For more cleanliness, please put the rack for sandals or shoes in corner side. So the shoes aren't in bed room.

Auntie Aini was great as usual. It's sad that she is leaving the hostel. Future backpackers will be missing out for sure.

Great location to the MRT and 2 min walk to great food and to Chinatown. Auntie Anni was the best part about the place, very warm, friendly, and she was great to just sit and chat with you. I'd recommend this place to anyone just because of Auntie Anni!

Basic & full of problems. We needed wifi, but it hadn´t been working for 2 weeks. Aini was very nice & took us to a wifi coffee shop & even got us coffee, so we overlooked this fault. Later on, however, we discovered the WORST bedbug infestation in our room. At first, we felt bad about leaving a negative review, since Aini claimed she had never seen such bugs before. What a surprise to read it in here that not only she knew about them for 2 weeks, but also did nothing about it. What a shame!

Ainie was a very nice lady, and tried her best to make us comfortable, however, we had bed bugs in our room, and despite her assurances that she would make sure they were gone before we went to bed, we still were bitten in the night. Then she moved us to a different private room where the bed bug problem was even worse! She claimed it was a recent problem, but the amount of bugs (dead and alive) on the bed frame suggests otherwise. I would not stay here ever again.

Thank you Auntie Aini for making my stay, yet again, an enjoyable one. It is always nice to stay with friends whom you have chosen to be like a family member. My love for Singapore extends to my love of Fernloft. I hope the other guests would experience the same feeling that I'm having every time I spend my vacation in Singapore staying at a very cozy hostel. Always feels like home. Thanks again Auntie Aini for the shared laughter.

If you only need a place to take rest at night and will be busy in the morning until afternoon, then this place is for you. I left early in the morning, so I didn't have the chance to taste the breakfast. Staffs were very friendly, bathroom was clean. I can't give 5 star on cleanliness, because my room was damp and dusty, I think the air condition had never been cleaned for some time. I got cough almost instantly every time I entered my room. My friend had got itch at her whole body.

not easy to find - make sure you open your eyes WIDE there was only one staff...a lady..not very friendly and says one things does another they use a pin code to get through the main door which i find extremely unsafe i stayed there for two nights...the wifi was down for 2 nights..asked the lady and she told me it was fixed (which was not) so i used the public computer...and guess what i found...it was DIAL UP internet access (i couldn't open a DAMN page) i would never go back there again

A small, friendly, very clean hostel ideally located in Chinatown. We had a double room which was good and then an extra night in a 4 bed dorm, again very good. It is a few streets from Chinatown, 5 mins walk to 2 metro stations and across the road from Maxwell St food hawker centre.

Aunty Aini, the one who take cares the hostel is so nice. She picked us (me & my sister) up @MRT Station. And also gave us a welcome drink..(thank you, aunty *hug*). For us,Fernloft City (Chinatown) is small size hostel with a good atmosphere, feels like own home. The others people who stayed there is also very nice, and we shortly became friend. Great location to Chinatown and other good places. Would love to stay there again someday! Take care & cya aunty.. :)

Auntie Aini is awesome! :) She make sure she attends to our needs all the time. She even cooked lunch for us. Her Chicken soup was delicious. I will definitely stay again in Fernloft Chinatown. The place and the bathroom is clean. The toilet is separated from the shower room. When you wake up in the morning, breakfast is ready. Unlimited bread :) You can leave your luggage after check out at no charge :) I will definitely recommend this place to my friends.

The room given to was okay for a few hours of stay. The staffs especially Ms. Cathy and Mr. Jason is superb, i thank them much :) Auntie Annie stayed late at night just to greet us and give us a warm welcome :) The only thing i've expected too much is that, we will have our rice or set breakfast, as i knew we would have but unfortunately, there's none. but it's ok that they have bread and fillings for the breakfast. Drinks is only tea and no water and no coffee during our breakfast.

This was the first hostel we stayed in and I much preferred it to our second for the simple fact that the room was a fantastic size, it was very personal too because there are only a couple of rooms in this hostel. The lady that worked there was more than helpful and even took us directly to some massage venues that she recommended. Because there are only a few rooms, there is only one shower but this really didn't bother me at all! If they weren't booked out - I would have stayed longer!!!

Aunty Aini manages this small place single handedly, and does a fantastic job. A great location overlooking the only small open area in Chinatown, if you are lucky you may get to try Aunty Aini's home cooking!

Stayed 3 nights. Arrived late at night (11.00pm) . No one around. Had to ring and get Ainie out of bed. Room air conditiner broken. Had fan. Hot night. Air-con fixed next day. Room is very basic. Bed/pillow comfortable. Adequate tea/coffee and toast etc for breakfast. Room small. Only one shower to share with all rooms. Ainie was good, she did her best with what she had to offer. Good location next to Chinatown and markets.

We arrived late at night. No one there. Lady got out of bed to help us. She was lovely. The room was sparse. The air conditioning didn't work so she turned the fan on. It was HOT. It worked the next day. The shared ablutions was an issue. Often had to wait a long time to access the one and only shower. Also had to wait for showers to be done before any laundry could be done. It's well located adjacent to Chinatown. Not a place I would go back to however budget accommodation in Singapore is dear.
