I was disappointed that the hostel I had booked was closed and I was moved to Little India, a nice area, but further from the airport. I only needed a short overnight stop, so this was not so convenient. Tired, I changed my dormitory room to a private room. There was no window, it was dirty and very basic. There was no sink in the room and just one tiny bathroom to share between all the guests on the top floor. I would have expected a much lower rate for this standard. However, aircon worked.

Location was excellent for an early morning transfer to the airport, but wouldn't be as good for exploring downtown. There were buses on the street, and plenty of taxis. Our private room was small but well appointed, it had a window and furniture. The place seemed very clean.

The Aircon in the main mixed beds was quite noisy (not the normal air blowing but a slight vibrating sound) but they say they've looked into it now although i can't verify that. Girls room is accessed by walking through the mixed dorm. It's good for location to the east coast park if that's what you're after and there's a lot less traffic which is good as it's hard to find nice open space in singapore

Cheap, decent hostel. Had to take a bus to the MRT but near a lot of good bus routes. The owner was very nice and provided a lot of useful information. Quiet atmosphere, front door is locked at 1AM so no people walking around noisily. Nothing for breakfast but some toast and instant coffee.

This hostel was not very clean, especially the bathrooms. Also, the evening staff person was asleep on the job at the desk. On the positive side, the day staff person was greatly helpful with maps and advice about getting around by public transportation.
