It was difficult to understand who was the staff in the Fifth Hostel; they are really friendly but they were always lying on the couch and really noisy during the night ! The showers and restrooms were awful for want of upkeep ! But the hostel has a really good location to visit touristic places

We checked into the main hostel, it seemed nice, the staff was friendly, but then they told us we were going to a separate part of the hostel down the street. It was in a dilapitated, old building. Once you get in the building, anyone can just walk into the hostel and there are no lockers to keep your valuables. It was pretty dirty, puddles of dirty water on the bathroom floors, the showers had brown gunk and the beds were very uncomfortable. Every move made them squeak, so we were up all night.

The hostel is perfectely located and the staff is really helpful! We arrived already at 6am and were allowed to crash on the couch in the common room. The place is really clean and has a cosy atmosphere. The only negative point for some might be that you'll have to share the shower room with the other gender and the showers are only seperated by a curtain, but if you won't mind that the hostel is a definite yes!

Don't expect all mod cons when staying here, but at 10 euro a night this place is one of the best value hostels in Budapest, the cheapest actually. Me and my friends arrived and at first didn't like that we were in a different building (4th floor no lift), but when we did get there the room was big and accommodated all of us. Staff were friendly and so we're other guests. Overall a great location for sights in the city centre and metro links, and bars and major clubs all walkable disdistance.
