Finnegan's Hostel is a gem. Great atmosphere, gracious staff, very comfortable. I highly recommend it!

cheap to stay. we stayed in a 10 man dorm, anybody had access .fortunatley for the 2 night we stayed, there was only 2 other guys in the room. but the hostel seems to open for anyone to walk in. The lock on the front door did not alway work and the door remained unlocked. the rooms were average but hadnt had a good clean for a while... the room stunk of smoke, on of the guys insisted on smoking in room sometimes at 6am in the morning

Finnegan's is absolutely beautiful. Set inside an old Victorian house, you have high ceilings, decorated walls, and huge mirrors. They keep it classy and name all the rooms after Irish writers. Despite the lack of a kitchen, you do get to have breakfast in Mary's Tea Room, which is on the ground floor and really takes you back a couple centuries with it's elegant decoration. Quite the experience!

We will not visit this place again - after staying at another place for 1 night we came back to continue our stay. We booked the dorms in advance, payed the deposit and even told the owner personally (!) that we would stay for another 2 nights. The owner, rather impolite and overtaxed, then send us away because "a bigger group just checked in", we could only stay if we payed to stay in one of the (expensive) suites. Didn't get the deposit back either and had to search for another hostel.

Staff unable to communicate in english, unbelievable dirty, no guests, rooms filled up with stuff like in an attic, unbelievable stinky, we left our deposit behind and had to look for sth else, we would have slept in the car otherwise, this location was frightening and awful, it should not be offered at hostelworld any longer, it is a shame to take peoples money who trust in this house previer good reviews from earlier times. It is a shame for hostelworld.

A really nice stay in the newly renovated hostel in a charming old house. I can recommend this hostel to anybody who likes warm and friendly athmosphere and good and tasty food. A tea room was to be opened in a near future and it looked really nice.

Great choice of accommodation if staying in Tralee. Very central location and near taxi rank too, for when I needed to travel outside of town. Very competitively priced too, considering it is in the town centre. Helpful staff and over all it seemed like a secure location to stay in as well.
