Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff. Bathrooms were decently clean. Met so many cool peeps from around the world. It was def party central. Not the place to stay if you want peace and quiet.

Breakfast consisted of toast and cereal, and if the bread ran out reception staff didn't care. Not good considering the high price

The kitchen was quite limited in the cooking utensils provided (not pots for cooking pasta, etc). The kitchen doubled as the common area but it didn't seem to be an issue as there were of chairs in the hallways for you to hang out, and a really nice bar downstairs for the evenings. It was a damn noisy hostel between the dirty 6th bars, the bar downstairs, and trucks driving past at 5am. My bed was on a 30° angle towards the wall so I woke up lying against the wall. Wifi was buggy.

8 bed dorm with bunk beds, very close quarters. Made reservation for single gender room but this wasn't available at check in.

Firehouse Hostel is a conveniently placed gem in the heart of downtown Austin. With so many places to eat and hear live music with in walking distance! The staff was very friendly and helpful; clean bathrooms, sheets, and occasionally towels, and a kitchenette. I didn't get a chance to try the breakfast but I am sure it was great! I will definitely name Firehouse Hostel as my number one place to stay in Austin!!!

hostel was fun. it can get roudy after a late night out on 6th so get mad or join them! if you can't, then buy the earplugs at the front desk. also, remember to drop your linen off before you check out so the next person has fresh linen too. breakfast was good. overall, great place to crash downtown, friendly staff, and very affordable. thanks firehouse!

Perfect location: just behind the best road of the city: with all the bars and restaurants. Really close to everything. Very nicely decorated, with a wonderful staff.
