First Stop is a peaceful place far from the noisy hustle and bustle of Jiufen Old Street itself. Amy and Ann go out of their way to make sure you have a relaxing and restful stay. Don't miss the sunset, it's glorious to watch from their cozy glasshouse overlooking the bay. From the hostel you can leisurely explore the quieter parts of Jiufen, like the Sleepless Ones' Garden. It is however, quite far from the Old Street itself, so if that's your only purpose be prepared for a bit of a climb.

Easy to locate with the help of the locals and signage but be prepared for some stairs. Homemade Taiwanese breakfast was the reason to wake up to in the cold! Having it at the glass house with a view was another reason. Our roommates were very friendly and we had a great night talking in our common room. The cats are adorable too! Pretty much any information you need can be found by asking. It definitely set the bar high for other hostels!

Excellent hostel! Clean, great hosts, great home-made breakfast eaten in a wonderful little glass house overlooking the coast! I couldn't believe it was a hostel at times! Friendly hosts as well, one night was way too short, until the next time!

Amy and Ann are amazing. I felt beyond welcome here, and I loved the quiet, off-the-beaten-path feel of this hostel. It's a short walk to the main streets of Jiufen, and the views overlooking the valley from the hostel are incredible. They made Taiwanese breakfast, and Amy even sent me with some to go when I went up Keelung. The hostel was clean and simple. The gals have binders of info. and pictures of destinations in Jiufen and beyond. I cannot speak highly enough of their hospitality.

Really sweet place found at the bottom of Jiufen, close to the teahouses and main action of it all. Really comfortable beds, good lockers and lovely breakfast, everything you need. The staff give you great recommendations on day trips and where to eat and where to go and they have a lovely glass house where you can hangout.
