Average and cheap place to stay in Dali. Double rooms were among the biggest in China, with good bathrooms. Very clean. There is a nice garden to hang out and a big roofes area by the bar. Staff speaks englisch but is bored and not so helpful with information. Chef did not show up twice, but there is awesome breakfast in a very well run hostel round the corner. Lacks atmosphere although it has big potential.

Our room was modern & cleaned each day. The hostel was fairly busy but there was little in the way of atmosphere & common areas were rarely used. The Internet was really slow & in our room often didn't work. There is a restaurant with western & Asian dishes but we found better options in town. The staff spoke good English and helped arrange our bus to Kunming coming with us to the nearby station. There were ads for social events but nothing happened during our nine day stay. Ok but not the best.

We enjoyed our stay here and found the staff very helpful. Advise outdoor enthusiasts to go up cang Shan mountain and explore the hiking trails. We liked the hostels restaurant but also really enjoyed the Hunan Kitchen next to climb Dali.

My mum and I stayed in a double private the first night and then a twin private the second night (we extended our trip by a day and had to move rooms because ours was already booked). Both rooms were lovely and clean, although the laminate flooring of the double room was beginning to fall apart. Great location, helpful staff, lovely common area and backyard. A quiet hostel, perfect for mums.

We stayed in both a private room and a dorm. Private was great! Big, stylish room. Dorm was dark, a bit musty and common bathroom was not that clean. If you're looking for a private room, this hostel is a good option. For dorms there are probably better options out there. Oh, and the cocktails are very cheap! It's unfortunate you can't order them because the staff don't know how to make them..

The staff and owner of this hostel are very nice and helpful. I had a cold when I arrived and they not only helped me to find medicine but also made me ginger tea and soup. Very nice people here. Great location right across the street from old town. Definitely reccomend this place. If youare going to Lijiang next I would also reccomend their shuttle service. I took a train and ended up paying about the same once you factor in all of the transportation.
