Wonderful stay and one of the best breakfasts, fresh veggies and olives in the morning starts you off right in Greece!
A hotel turned hostel in my opinion. Still, pleasant enough with friendly staff. Unforntunately the WIFI was the flakiest I've ever experienced so hopefully they can resolve this.
A modest hostel in Monastiraki. The location is beyond compare. The Metro station is just a few steps away and half a block down is Monastiraki square from where it's a short trek to the Plaka, Syntagma Square, and the Acropolis. Staff is warm and friendly, the facilities are pretty basic but clean (though you may need to air out your room/bathroom regularly), and complimentary breakfast is provided everyday. We had a great time. A perfect budget Athens hostel if your needs aren't extravagant.
Average hostel. I prefer places where I can easily meet other travellers. This isnt so much that type of place for me. I got a terrible rash probably from the detergent on the sheets. But the location is excellent and it is very cheap, so it is kind of an "at your own risk" type of place. You cold have a good time or it could kind of suck like it did for me.
Cery good value for money. Good location and free simple breakfast.
the location is good, very close to the subway station and easy to find. however it is so near the main street, it is quite noisy even during late night.
It was a nice but noisy night...

It was a great location, very close to the metro station and the Monastiraki square, the Acropolis and very good restaurants. The hostel itself was clean and nice; only bad thing is climbing the stairs up to the fifth floor with big bags is not the best thing in the world, then the shower in the ensuite rooms is too small to have a comfortable shower. Overall, it was very nice.
This was my second stay at Fivos (previous stay: 2012) and I consider it an excellent place: clean, efficient, unpretentious, convenient. I was particularly touched by the fact that, having arrived by ferry from Crete before 8 am, I was offered a choice: a more comfortable room at 3rd floor available at 12 am, or a less comfortable room at 5th floor available immediately. Dying for a shower and some rest, I gratefully jumped at the second option. Also: there's Greek salad for breakfast!
