The hostel is in a really fun and cool area, and it took us barely 15 minutes to walk to the Acropolis. It's definitely in a noisy area, but it's safe and clean. Free breakfast is included in your stay, and the staff were so so helpful. Both staff members that we interacted with were incredibly helpful and friendly, and went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed and knew where we were going!

We stayed here as a stop off to do the sites on the way to the islands. Excellent location very near to plaka and the acropolis. The area had a lot of graffitti but we saw no trouble even at night very busy location with plenty going on and very close to the metro. Staff were helpful but hostel itself lacked atmosphere and the stairs were a killer. Just for location and staff I would recommend this but don't expect luxury.

Right in the heart of Athens. This is obvious as you can literally hear everything that is going on outside. Motorbikes, party goers and people having conversations on the street out front. We are on a RTW trip and this was by far the most disappointing room we stayed in. Unclean, smelly, and incredibly loud as mentioned earlier. Staff were mostly unhelpful. Wifi was very poor and didn't work in our room at all. Great location. Acropolis only a 15 minute walk.

The hotel is in a fantastic location close to all the sites and areas you might want to visit as well as convenient transport links. It is clean but could do with a bit of updating. The breakfast is decent for a budget place. The main problem for us was the noise from both the busy street below as well as outside our hotel as we could hear people in the bathroom next door.

it's more an hotel than a hostel. But if you are not after that party and loud atmosphere, this place has everything you need. Great location only 1 min away from the nearest subway station and Monastiraki square and 10 from Acropolis. Staff is helpful and warm. And breakfast is healthy and genuine. Next door thre's a travel agency which can accomodate your ensuing travel destinations across Greece. Al in all an excellent budget choice

The hostel is nice, but the air-conditioning is horrible. It was much too warm in the room (in April and not because it was warm outside as well) and the air was really dry.

Fivos is very close to the metro station Monastiraki, which means it is really close to most of tourist attractions in Athens. The receptionist is really helpful and dynamique. The only thing disappointing is that we have no hot water in our room.

The hotel is modest. Good position and the beautiful girl at reception is the only good thing :)

You have to be lucky to have a good room here , they have strange rooms, some of them have lower sailings , some of them have a pole in the middle of the room ... In a word , luck is the key word to stay here .lol .. Good price and good location though . There are some noisy club outside , will shock your nerve till morning ..

Wonderful stay and one of the best breakfasts, fresh veggies and olives in the morning starts you off right in Greece!

A hotel turned hostel in my opinion. Still, pleasant enough with friendly staff. Unforntunately the WIFI was the flakiest I've ever experienced so hopefully they can resolve this.

A modest hostel in Monastiraki. The location is beyond compare. The Metro station is just a few steps away and half a block down is Monastiraki square from where it's a short trek to the Plaka, Syntagma Square, and the Acropolis. Staff is warm and friendly, the facilities are pretty basic but clean (though you may need to air out your room/bathroom regularly), and complimentary breakfast is provided everyday. We had a great time. A perfect budget Athens hostel if your needs aren't extravagant.

Average hostel. I prefer places where I can easily meet other travellers. This isnt so much that type of place for me. I got a terrible rash probably from the detergent on the sheets. But the location is excellent and it is very cheap, so it is kind of an "at your own risk" type of place. You cold have a good time or it could kind of suck like it did for me.

It was a great location, very close to the metro station and the Monastiraki square, the Acropolis and very good restaurants. The hostel itself was clean and nice; only bad thing is climbing the stairs up to the fifth floor with big bags is not the best thing in the world, then the shower in the ensuite rooms is too small to have a comfortable shower. Overall, it was very nice.

This was my second stay at Fivos (previous stay: 2012) and I consider it an excellent place: clean, efficient, unpretentious, convenient. I was particularly touched by the fact that, having arrived by ferry from Crete before 8 am, I was offered a choice: a more comfortable room at 3rd floor available at 12 am, or a less comfortable room at 5th floor available immediately. Dying for a shower and some rest, I gratefully jumped at the second option. Also: there's Greek salad for breakfast!
