The place location is excellent but the toilet and bathroom need more improvements. The staffs are fine, and, in most of times, are helpful. The Friday night is a little bit noisy as some of the guys are over-drunk.

I (female) stayed on the fourth floor, which had the men's bathroom closed. Therefore, the female bathroom was frequented by a lot of guys, especially drunk ones in the morning. Also the bathroom smelled of pot every single night... The floor in by room (415) was filthy, I don't think it got cleaned very often. The staff was friendly and helpful though, and, of course, the location is excellent.

Hostel is in good location so that you can easily get on transport to all over Melbourne. Also lots of shops/bars/restaurants nearby. Stayed in a double room which was small but clean, unforuntately couldn't open window so was very warm. My boyfriend said that men's bathroom was filthy, ladies ok. Stair wells unclean. Shared kitchen area was adequate. Whole hostel has quite a studenty feel and is very big so is quite unpersonal. Bar is ok, but like a student's union so fine if you're a student.

The hostel was very dirty and the staff were very rude and unhelpful. I was not provided with the girls dorm accommodation which I booked, but instead was given a room with all guys in it. When I complained I was told there were no other beds available. The staff member was not even appologetic. I did not end up staying there.

get the staff to learn some courtesy to all patrons and not be selective.Fulltime cleaners are needed in the disgusting pigsty toliets, stairwells from drunken backpackers with no respect for your property. As a result you attract idiots and alcohol crazed horny sleazy on heat biarches!...

In general i actually did enjoy my time in this hostel alot. However, that was more because of the people I met and not the hostel. Some things could be worse. But most things better. One really bad thing is that they state that there is free Internet access. That is not correct! Finally: Please clean the bathrooms for real!!! Not those incompetent backpacker employees!

Nice location. Good kitchen. You should be good luck to meet nice roommate. I change room once because a bad roommate took a guy back to female dorm room had six whole night made me can't sleep. But nice staff help me change to other room and I meet lovely friends.

No record of our booking when we showed up and the receptionist couldn't care less, until we showed proof of booking. I've heard 4 or 5 other people with similar stories - get an email confirmation in case! Dirty, noisy (the bar below played terrible music until 3am) but cheap and in an excellent location city wise. Not somewhere you'd want to stay for more than a few nights, and there are better party hostels elsewhere in the city.

Staff were generally unfriendly, rude, and weren't interested in being helpful. A friend in my group I was travelling with was 'accidently' checked out and consequently all her belongings in her room went missing, and the staff were unable to recover. Actual venue had a good atmosphere and was in a good location - however the experience of having belongings taken from a room and not given back put a downer on the trip.
