Very enjoyable stay. Great location. Room clean and comfortable. Staff really accommodating - lent us several guidebooks that were really helpful during our stay.

The location was perfect and it was a very great value for your money! The receptionist who checked us in was very friendly, spoke great English for having taught himself and helped me print off a train ticket. Definitely recommend it!

[FYI, stayed in another building across the hostel for private room] Home-like, spacious room for 2, CCTV in the corridor & kitchen, close to everything (after all, Florence is small), hot water worked. The male receptionist wasn't particularly helpful, the one who did the cleaning was amazing; the restaurant recommended across the hostel - terrible service. Had to work out how the toilet key exactly worked (never tuck it too deep in the keyhole). Big kitchen but nth for cooking. Toaster yes.

The owner(s) were the most amazing people i've ever met. They alone made it worth it.

Didn't realize we would get kicked out of the hostel every day from 10 am until 2 pm! Also wish they would have told me that I couldn't check in until 2 pm instead of asking me what time I would like to check in. I said I would be there at noon and then I got there and wasn't let in to my room until 2 pm. The shower was very small and the toilet very hard to flush. But I liked that the rooms were cleaned every day and the location was excellent!

Fabulous position. Our rooms were in a different building to reception, three floors up after we had carried cases up one floor to reception at the address stated. Reception is not always manned. Told we could have breakfast in main building but they did not answer the door bell so could not get in .In our building three double/twin rooms had one bathroom to share with toilet in bathroom. This is unsatisfactory. Nice kitchen

The staff & little notes around the hostel were quite helpful during our visit to Florence! Facilities were good - wifi, computer...there was only one shower for those booking a shared room but it was never a problem. We booked a double bed private which was two twins pushed together, not a big deal though. Breakfast was 2.50 for cereal, coffee, juice, pastries, yogurt, fruit. Location is great, would recommend!

Wonderful hostel with great staff. No locker which made me uncomfortable leaving valuables in the shared room.

The best! Location (the city center, the very center!) and personnel (supportive and helpful) and atmosphere (very friendly, kinda family, and authentic). My number one.

This hostel was more than perfect for us--our room had a terrace with an amazing view and Daniel (one of the owners) went out of his way to make us more than comfortable. He gave us numerous maps with directions to the best pubs, restaurants, train station/minimetro and advice. We couldn't have asked for better service, especially when we messed up our reservation, he made sure everyone had a place to stay with towels, linens, and anything else we could need. Also the best possible location!!

When I got to the hostel at 5pm, around the time I said I would check in (you have to tell them what time you're going to be there as it is not staffed 24/7, so if you're train or planes late - good luck getting in), there was no one to let me in and I waited for over an hour in a dark hallway for my room, just what you want to be doing after a long day of travel. Once the guy that works the desk finally came back, they were rude. Brutal common area (worst couch ever) and just overall bad place.

Nice enough hostel in an excellent location. It is perfect place to stay if all you want is a bed and a shower with basic facilities. The hostel doesn't really have a common room and isn't a great place to meet people (poor social atmosphere). Also my travelling mate advises me to inform you that top bunk position is less than desirable as the bed rocks and there is no place to put belongings without them falling down the crack. Nevertheless we did enjoy our stay in Florence, what a lovely city!

Florence Youth Hostel is really like a small hotel -- perhaps the hostel atmosphere is more in evidence in the high season. I really enjoyed staying here -- it's very clean and quiet, and the staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful.

A small hostel owned by a very nice couple, however I think they need to hire someone else. It's not a hostel with 24 hour staff availability. Unfortunately I had to wait 20 minutes to check in as they were busy cleaning and also waited another 20 minutes when I was locked out of the hostel and had left my luggage to be stored before I went to catch the train. With just one day in Florence, I was in a bit of a rush. The room and bathrooms were very clean, but the smell of bleach was a bit strong

Great place, and amazing location. One issue was there was only one shower for a large number of people. Luckily, I didn't need to shower, but some of my friends needed to wait for the shower. Otherwise helpful staff, good vibes in the hostel, and very safe.
