Florian and his family made us feel very welcome. It was tricky to find driving from the Montenegrin border, but when you get to the 5 way intersection, make a sharp left and go straight down the road until you see it on the right. It had been a stressful day of driving for us, but when we stepped through the gate, it felt like entering an oasis. They have a lovely garden, and we enjoyed delicious home-grown meals while hearing Florian's stories of his country. A great host and a great place!

I agree with most of these reviews. We came to Florian's Guesthouse based off of a friend's recommendation and were very glad we did. Staying here felt like we were staying with a family, a truly unique experience. Florian is very passionate about his guests, and that made all the difference. Dinner for 3 euro was fabulous, the tour of the city was informative, and he even helped us arrange transportation for the next leg of our journey! Thanks again

I had very nice time there, and passed great time with Florian and other guests. The home-made food is incredible, totally healthy and delicious. It is a litlle bit far from the town, but Florian sends you a taxi for only 500 lekes. Florian also tried to explain us History of Albania, very interesting. He has been all the time with us, keeping very interesting conversations.

Everything was good. The location was away from the city center but it wasn't a problem for us. If you use a bicycle widely, your trip is going to be well. The breakfast was good and the host was very kind. If you visit Shkodra, I highly recommand this guesthouse.

The Florian Shkodra Guesthouse was, as all the other reviews have pointed out, a great place to stay. I stayed there for about two days in late June / early July of 2012, after which I went a little over the border to visit and stay in the Montenegrin beach-resort town of Ulcinj (where most of the people actually are ethnically Albanian) for about 1.5 days. After my thoroughly pleasant jaunt to Ulcinj, I came back to stay at the Guesthouse for another 24 hours or so. ... continued below ...

We arrived in Shkoder quite late, and we didn't have a lot of time to look around town sadly. What we did have was a great evening at Florian's. The yard, with fruittrees, grapevines, and a very rural, very Albanian view right outside of the gate were amazing. Moreover the hospitality of this lovely family, the completely homemade dinner was absolutely fantastic and a real experience, as well were the stories of the host Florian. He knows a lot about the region and how to get to places! A treat!
