- common shower rooms doesn’t have proper doors, there are shower curtains but it doesn’t cover the full door! - carpet is very smelly - heating system in the building is very loud and sometimes people can’t even sleep, management advised there’s nothing they could do because the heating system is too old - windows in rooms have small gaps between the window frame and the wall, wind is coming through these gaps and making a very annoying squeaky noise - toilets doesnt flush properly and too old

This place sucks. Don't even bother to come. The housekeepers come at 7AM in the morning. They're very slow and very loud. They'll hang around the floor for a whole day, keep loud chatting and leave their loud vacuum on, but never seem to finish their job. There's definitely NO internet. The only place with connection, OR THE STAFFS SAY, is at the lobby which is ALWAYS occupied by screaming kids and their parents. And if you manage to squeeze in, you'll find that the internet is down 24/7!!!

It is very clean, the staff is very nice and professional. A tip: if the heat in your room is too much, just let the front desk know and they'll send someone to adjust it. It was definitely good value for the money.

I expected to be able to access to internet service throughout my stay in Flushing YMCA. But, I somehow felt being cheated as the internet service was down most of the time during my stay there. Even there is internet service, it was rather slow and only could be accessed at certain spot, not in my room as I expected. Besides, it is unfair for the guest to pay upon check-in which is very unusual as I traveled so much and it was my first experience that insisted payment upon my arrival. Thanks

I read review s on this place before I booked it, and they all basically say the same thing. "For the price...its good" NOT EVEN CLOSE TO TRUE, unless you're dirt broke and next to living on the streets then this is a downgrade from any place you'll stay. One word. ROACHES!!! I checked out before the first night was even up, and it took them two seconds to take the money off my credit card, supposedly its going to take 5 weeks for them to return that money.

Hostel is located 30-40 min away with the 7 line, which is ok if you have enough days to visit New York. Place is clean and secure. It is located in the middle of an Asian neighbourhood but there are also non asian places to eat (McDonald's, Subway, etc.).

- OK location - for only having 10 minutes walk from the nearest subway station, and I feel safe walking alone on streets at night. - friendly staff - probably one of the cheapest options you can have for a single room in NYC - bathrooms are not clean and the toilet flush didnt work when I was trying to use it - carpets are really smelly though Despite the hygiene which would be REALLY GREAT if it can be improved, I might be back again for the sake of privacy at cheap cost

Very good quality accommodation with good facilities and great housekeeping staff and the best coffee we've had for ages. Really good to see so many local families using the swimming facilities, Zumba, Gym and Cafe. Great value with good train connections and a direct line to Times Square on Line No 7 which runs very frequently.

It was so bad ! ! They are the worst of the YMCA ! ! ! Do not come here its really bad ! I paid for the deposit on the internet but they didn't accept it they said they didn't take the deposit, the hostelworld took the money so they didn't pay my money. They are also not respectful. Probably I won't use the website of the hostelworld again
