The staff were helpful and friendly. The hostel was comfortable enough, and plenty secure, with heavy security doors that you had to ring to be let in through -- although there weren't lockers in all the rooms. We'd be perfectly happy to stay there again. We were grateful that they stored our bags (free) for four nights while we were out on a jungle trip. The bathrooms could do with a little more regular attention, but otherwise no real complaints.

We liked the place. It had character and a nice ktichen and common area. The staff was excellent and super friendly. We had a nice room with A/c and a private bathroom. It was very clean. The wiew of the lake was obstructed by all the electric cables (owned by the municipality not by the hostel). They also put us in touch with a jungle tour operator, who turned out to be great and provided good service. On the down side we thought the rooms were a bit overpriced.
