This hostel was a good place to stay. Most of the people staying here go into the jungle so it's a good place to get information over breakfast. The showers work ok and have hot water. I stayed here before and after my 12 days in the jungle. The staff had useful info about boats going to Brazil.
Poor facilities that are grubby and dirty. Staff are helpful, however be careful that you are getting value when they help organise tours.
It's probably the best hostel in Iquitos, great value for AC, and social.
Completely stuffed up my booking so I had to keep swapping between rooms. Staff could have made more effort to be friendly as well. Only one toilet upstairs with a broken door. Beds were comfy, breakfast was good, able to sleep as no parties (though were weekdays).
Only stayed one night which it was fine for. Warm shower, air con in our room. We were very tired from travel so it suited us. They know a tour company who comes to the hostel so it was really easy to organise an Amazon tour.
The staff was so amazingly helpful and nice - had tons of recommendations for where to go and what to do. They even let me take a shower when I came back a few days later to pick up my stuff (after a jungle tour), and helped me get a car to the airport. And the people staying at the hostel were a fun group. Would definitely stay here again!
Overall, a good experience and good value. Very helpful in arranging jungle tour trip. Great location and view of the river. Wifi was very slow and only worked intermittently, hard to even check email. This might just be normal for Iquitos though. Some of the bathrooms don't have solid roofs so when it rains, they get wet and dirty. Not a real social environment, but I met people over breakfast which was provided. Offered locked storage for bags during jungle trip. I'd stay here again.
Didn't have our booking on arrival which was a bit of a pain but it was quickly sorted out. Really big spacious private rooms, good breakfast of eggs, bread, jams, coffee, fresh smoothie, great kitchen facilities, good location and relatively clean. Good wifi and hot showers... Worth a stay.
Had a comfortable 3 night stay. The rooms had fans which we were so grateful for and beds were comfortable. There was a large kitchen fully equipped which was good if you wanted to cook for yourself. There was also a nice large breakfast every morning of toast and egg and drinks. We had no problems while here, there's a nice atmosphere in the hostel and its easy to relax there. Good location and helpful staff and hot showers. Be aware, if you've been in Peru for a while, there's an extra 18% tax
Very well situated: supermarket, ATM etc. within 1-2 blocks, safe area with army buildings. Cleanliness ok to good. Windows could not be properly closed, some small panes are missing. Room had an electric fan. Only few outlets per room. Showers cold, but you dont really need hot water here to shower comfortably anyways. Lockers were decently sized (daypack+ size), however some had a 3-5cm gap between door and frame even when locked. Breakfast was good. Free drinking water dispenser.
Stayed here 1 night. Private room was nice and the bed was comfortable. Shower was hot and the room had A/C! What more could you want?
NIce clean hostel close to city center. Hot showers available on the first floor which was a very positive surprise.
Had loads of fun here! The jungle trip which they recommend and help you book was amazing too!! But would recommended getting a room with air conditioning! Marcel took us to see Explosions, the best band in Iquitos, which was so fun!
Great hostel, really central. Very clean, loads of bathroom facilities, helpful and friendly staff, good kitchen, everywhere are fans. I can really recommend a stay. Two negative things: poor wifi and when you have been longer than 2 month in Peru you have to pay a tax which I never had to pay before.
Excellent location and the staff is really helpful. They are always willing to give you indications or recommendations of places to visit in Iquitos. The place is really affordable and the only thing to fix would be to get a better wi-fi network.
Really friendly staff. Nice place. It was kinda annoying that staff would place fußball which was really noisy while guests were trying to concentrate on a movie.
Great hostel, the staff is really nice they are always smiling and willing to help you. The dorms are comfortable with fans. Good breakfast, includes eggs and fresh juice. Good location too

I enjoyed my very short stay at the Flying Dog, particularly meeting the people who were staying there. The breakfast was adequate and the place was overall very clean and safe. The location was great very close to where the action was happeni There wasn't much going on as far as activities within the hostel but i think this was standard for Iquitos. My only complaint was that the rooms were very hot and the fan provided was not the best (they could use another fan really).
Good location close to restaurants, helpful staff, clean room, AC. However, the bathroom smelled a bit moldy even though it appeared to be clean.
