A very recommendable hostel - its small but suits the 'comforts of home' needs. Casual atmosphere, social but not a crazy party. You can't expect too much for a hostel in the Amazon, so wifi is slow and showers aren't always warm - but thats what a hotel in Lima is for :) This is the Amazon - you get the experience!
Helpfull staff! let me use phone and helped me book airline tickets etc. Recommend a great variety jungle trips and realistic prices. Wifi didnt work well, but is a problem throughout Iquitos i think?... all part of the jungle baby!
Spent a total of x3 nights over 2 stints in the hotel to compete in the Amazon Raft Race 2013. The staff were extremely accommodating to our situation, allowing us additional nights at late notice to store our valuables. Thanks for the pleasant stay, and would recommend to any traveler visiting Iquitos.
The staff really does a great job taking care of all your needs! The location is right off the river and there are chillout spots looking into the river basin from the hostel. It´s a really good size place...with all the fixings. Only little issues are...one key per room (all of SA does that), little critters are all around (but your in the jungle), they have an issue with providing change (happened three times)
Nice hostel. Wifi didn't work that well. They have beer for sale and are located near the water. Rooms were clean and so were the bathrooms. Overall a nice place.
The staff were mostly friendly and helpful. They can assist with jungle lodge stays but may not have very accurate pricing so wait to hear what the jungle lodge company has to say. The atmosphere here is good except the all male staff seem to like to decorate the common areas with any women's undergarments left behind, Windows and walls are thin so noise carries and staff can delay opening the front door which was some concern considering how close it is Belen and the waterfront.
Pretty annoyed that they claimed that we hadn't made a booking when we had (they had overbooked). They then said that they had saved us a dorm ( so they knew about the booking) and were able to give us our exact deposit back. I don't mind people making mistakes but I do dislike people not being honest about it. I don't want to be too critical as the guys there seemed nice enough, were friendly and helped us book a jungle tour but I was disappointed by this. A bit pricey for what is was as well
