Stayed here for one night thank god, when we arrived the guy at the reception seemed high and was useless! Just stood there and left us waiting for ages. Rooms didnt lock so was not secure however there was airconditioning, we paid our $20 key deposit by eftpos and they still havent returned it and its been 3 weeks, have rang then plenty of times and they just dont care about getting it sorted! The pool is awful, only good thing i have to say is that is right next to the lagoon

Perfect location, next to the esplanade, the sea, the free swimming pool. I would have liked the staff to be a bit less friendly and a bit more professional. I would expect more tourism advice, cleaner bathrooms, and not sticky tables. Breakfast is free but only available from 8AM, whereas most of the city excursions make you leave the hotel at 7:30.

I think it would be much better if you provide towels. Thanks

The "free" meal deal is not free. you have to buy a drink and then get a very small portion of mashed potatoes and meat gravy in addition. The hallways are quite narrow and rooms are pretty small. The kitchen was clean and there where lots of supplies. Unfortunately the stove was broken. Theres a free breakfast available, it was basic cereal, milk and toast, quite ok for a backpacker. Free wifi works only late at night, its impossible to use at daytime.

Never got round to try the breakfast because my tours always left earlier, but apart from that it was a great stay. The stuff is very helpful and fun to be around, they always know what's going on in Cairns at nights. I've only been there a few days but they made me feel very welcome. The rooms are small but okay for the price and clean. Showers are clean too which is a plus.

Checked in after hours and picked up key from hostel a couple of doors down, no hassle. Great location right on sea front.

Very hidden hostel at the Esplanade. Lots of rooms and as all hostels in Cairns very cheap. Staff is a bit crazy but funny, don't rely on the wifi, most of the time we spent there it didn't work.
