Chilled out atmosphere. Nice beach, too far from Amsterdam city.

The environment here is a really fun party atmosphere. The staff is relaxed, and there is a room where you can smoke what you buy in Amsterdam which is always pretty fun. I would definitely stay here again.

The shuttle service is misleading as they don't tell tell you it can and does fill up, so we were left using trains and buses which are three times more expensive. The staff fostered an extremely loud party until well past 2 AM and allowed drunk guests to scream and yell in the bedroom during that time. The room doors were constantly left open so anyone could walk in off the street. Could not pay me to stay here again.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff were generally other ex-pats running the hostel, and would hangout with the guests when not working. I also liked that many locals came to the bar in the evenings. Very good atmosphere and easy to make friends. Do keep in mind that there are no coffee shops in this town, and you should make purchases in Amsterdam if you enjoy those activities.

The most chilled out hostel you'll find, quite far from the city centre but right next to the beach.

A little out of the way, and if you don't get the shuttle from Amsterdam (they had sold out when I arrived) the metro will cost about 15euros in total to go from central station to the Hostel and take 1.5 hours. The place itself is nice, probably 2 minutes from the beach. A bunch of locals were hanging out all night in the bar.

It was really great at the Flying Pig. We loved to stay there. The beach is only 3 mins walk away, unfortunately there is no coffeeshop in Noordwijk (only in Leiden), but except for this, it's the best Hostel we've visited so far in the Netherlands! Staff is great and really friendly, atmosphere is great too. Everything was fine, we'll return!

Best place for an actual hostel experience!

Positives: Super close to the beach Great staff. Super responsive to complaints and requests Good value for a solo traveller (at approx USD $50/night) who is not picky about cleanliness/ general maintenance Negatives: It's a bit dingy. The balcony off of our room was filthy and it smelled like urine out there. No ventilation in the ensuite bathroom so toilet smells and shower moisture fill the room daily. If 2+ people are travelling (ie. together spending $100+/night) the value is not as good

Best hostel in Holland! Have stayed there on 2 separate occasions now and couldn't imagine staying anywhere else!

The staff were really friendly and the entire hostel had a chilled out atmosphere. If you're looking to meet people then choose this hostel, if you're not looking to party then avoid this place I guess. Can't wait until my next stay.

- Their big dormitory includes 20 persons: terrible; - It is far from the center, we have to take their shuttle bus or public transport to arrive their --> if this cost is added up, you can rent a little more expensive hostel in central.

Expect it to be very loud during the night. There isn't really a quiet place in the hostel. But it is right next to a huge beach so that's pretty awesome. Also the breakfast wasn't very organized.

Nice spot even if away from the city centre. The shuttle bus is really convenient but make sure you book in advance. Only 2 bathrooms / Toilets on the first floor for a few rooms (no sure if any were ensuite). I sometimes had to wait to use the shower or toilet (other toilet block in the basement tho). Great atmosphere among travelers and locals around drinking games and the pool table. Probably the best free breakfast I ever had in a hostel ! Bar is well priced + you can BYO until 8pm

Sure it's out of Amsterdam by a lot but it really is cool to be near the beach. One of my favourite hostels and an icon in the Netherlands. For the party people, the smoking room is where it's at and music is great. Even being an older traveller, the party atmosphere is enjoyable. Those who choose not to party will still enjoy a quiet nights sleep.

No lockers only small boxes. Far from city but was expected. Seemed to be going under construction.

Great hostel! The location was both great and terrible. It was annoying to take the shuttle back and forth as it didn't run at the most convenient times and it would fill up quickly. However the beach town was quite beautiful and at night the hostel bar was filled with locals! I spent a day just wandering around town and then some more time at a local city that was like a ,was touristy and quainter Amsterdam.

The locals in the bar were sometimes hostile toward backpackers; this put an uneasy twist on the bar area.
