The hostel did the trick because it was a lot cheaper than the hostels in the city but come to think of it, it might have been more expensive due to the transportatiion between city and hostel. When we arrived at about 11:30 pm we had some come ups at the check in: they didnt charge me directly to my credit card as expected so I had to pay in cash and also they wouldnt recieve a 100 euro bill. They then told us to take the beds which were made at the room but only one bed was made. we were 4.

It´s an average to good hostel but it´s CRIMINAL how they sell it as being related to Amsterdam. You're going to pay at least 12 euros (8 for the train + 4 for the bus) and spend 2 hours every time you want to go from Amsterdam Centraal to the Hostel using public transport. The hostel shuttle service (4 euros) is unreliable as they do it only a couple of times each day. However, if you want to stay in Noordwijk it´s great because it's VERY close to the beach, the staff and atmosphere are great.

Really cool place if you want to get out of Amsterdam for a few days, the bar was really fun and the staff were pretty cool too, would totally recommend if you want to see something a little different.

Great place to meet people. Friendly staff. Unavailability of kitchen in Tuesday frustrating for such a long time. Lack of power plugs in rooms. Bar drink prices too high given you can't bing your own

Great staff...LOL...Plenty of fun in the sun and a quick hop to Amsterdam if you don't like the beach!?! Anyways, great set of facilities but maybe everyone was too stoned to do more exciting things. I'm more outdoorsy, so I enjoyed the beach and Herring sandwiches, but If you like to hang out; perfect hostel as even the locals come in to......

I had a great time. My only complaint was that it was really annoying not to have the common room and kitchen open before 9am. Other than that, though, it was great. Made dinner in the kitchen every night, which saved us a ton of money, plus the breakfast was pretty good. The beds were fairly comfortable and the staff was fantastic! Definitely would consider staying here again.

The hostel was very cool and laidback but, the shuttle from the Uptown or Downtown Pigs is not usually on time and may take longer than an hour sometimes. It's 4 euro for the shuttle. the hostel is right by the beach which would be so nice when it's really sunny. it's very laid back place. the staff is soo cool but, from what it seems like online, it's much smaller and there is no swimming pool unless they are counting the ocean as a pool. Other than that, it was nice! meet a lot of cool people.

A fun place to be, with party going on, but if you want kick back by the beach, thats easily done too. With pick up and drop off its a very easy lovely escape from Amsterdam!

The hostel itself was well located, really close to the shops and beach. The hostel was also quite nice in the kitchen and lobby, the room was a bit unclean and the toilets didn't look like they got much attention in the cleaning department. The staff were friendly enough, a little cliquey though. My only real complaint was the top bunks, felt like i was going to fall through a little bit as they were quite old. Big fellas ask for a bottom bunk.

I had a really lovely stay at the Pig. I was dubious when booking and from the outside it doesn't look like anything special. However it has great character and charm on the inside! The staff were wonderful, friendly and helpful and I felt at home right away. The room was clean and comfy. The bar livens up at night and is lots of fun. Would definitely recommend!

Great value hostel, but you are a good hour outside of the city. They have a shuttle leaving at set times, so adjust your schedule accordingly and make sure to have a reservation and it won't be a problem. The beach alone is worth it! I wish there were more bathrooms, though, and updated bathrooms at that--be prepared to wait a long time if they're at maximum capacity. The staff is wonderful--I saw them at their best every day during my stay and the atmosphere was very fun!

Need more than one computer, since the only one has “an attitude” as the staff put it. Too far away from main attractions, even though the shuttle is cheap it does not run enough, raise the price & run it more would help. The staff for the most part were nice, one guy was late everyday and made us wait for the shuttle twice. Thankfully, the other staff offered items or services in return to make up for his unprofessionalism. Prices were good for food & drinks, although a bigger kitchen would help with a

Staff is super nice, shuttle works well. Leiden is close by which was fun and the bus picks up just down the block. They have safes in the rooms for little things but no where to lock your bags if you wanted to.

For those whose touring target is Amsterdam, i don't really recommend this hostel. Shuttle bus is casually arranged, places are tightly assigned. we had to book two days earlier and waited still 1 hour till the driver came. NOT RELIABLE if you're planing to use it to get a plane or a train so on The dorm is kind of crowded since more than 10 people share two showers and two toilets. The atmosphere is cool.. but let's say how much sense it makes if you're now staying/smoking there ALL THE TIME?

The hostel was very far out of Amsterdam. At least an hour train ride and the trains only went until midnight. If u plan to party, this isn't the place to book.
