I liked the place very much except for one thing. A staff member reserved other ppl over our alreadt made reservations for the shuttle bus to amsterdam and we were left to take public transport which ended up costing us 3 times as much...This was very dissappointing

Great breakfast!

My only complaint is that for the free wi-fi, you have to have a Facebook account to log in.... not a problem for 99% of the population I guess, but still a little exclusionary for people like me with no account. That being said, though, this hostel was awesome! My favorite part was the atmosphere.... the staff were fun, fellow travelers who were down to do something interesting and were extremely friendly! This hostel is also just an awesome place to spend a few days relaxing (or detoxing).

The location of the hostel is great! It is an easy short walk to the beach and the town of Noordwijk is pretty cute. There were periods of time where the door to the dorm room was propped open, which was a little unnerving since you don't have to pass by reception to enter the rooms, so someone could have walked through the front door and gone down there without a problem. The staff was extremely nice and enthusiastic!

A really fun place to stay and meet some cool people. Of course it's out of Amsterdam but it's great they have the shuttle there several times a day.

The energy is great at the Flying Pig! If you've already seen Amsterdam and want to see Leiden or Haarlem, you might want to consider staying at Noordwijk's Flying Pig. The beach is right across the street and the roads are perfect if you want to bike/ skate over to nearby cites. There's a neighboring supermarket/ shopping strip with great deals. The hostel was clean and was not too warm or cold. The bathrooms are cleaned often and allow you to have some privacy. The staff is too cool!

I can honestly say this has been my best stay in holland, I've been traveling there for over ten years, at least 6 times a year and have stayed in a number of locations, whether it be cheap hotels from "deal" websites or a last min stay in a hostel. Your staff are amazing, polite, friendly, welcoming and they love to party, the atomosphere is second to none and it almost feels like one big family. I cannot wait to get back over and spend more time at the pig. Beach is lovely and it's cheap! 😃

It has an AWESOME environment, perfect to chill out after a day in Amsterdam. It's a bit far away, yes, but worth it if you wanna take a dip in the ocean before starting the day. The breakfast is good as well, and the room is what you'd expect for so many people (we stayed at the 20 bed mixed).

We stayed at all three Flying Pigs, and the Beach Hostel was easily the best of the three. The atmosphere was so relaxed and friendly, with a fantastic sofa area in the front which was great for hanging out with and meeting people and a comfy smoking room by the back which tended to be full later into the night than the bar and so great for nightbirds. The beach itself was lovely, and the staff just as fun to chill with as the guests. The events were also great, like Battle Shots.

If you want to be near the center of Amsterdam this is not the place to go it is an hour shuttle ride from Amsterdam Central. If you want to get away from the busy center then this is definitely the place to go, a short walk from the beach. The hostel bar area has a really great atmosphere but if you want to smoke it's probably best to stock up in AMsterdam before you set off to the hostel as there is no where near by to buy weed from. Lovely hostel I will definitely be returning!!!

This place is NOT in Amsterdam, if you're looking for a hostel in amsterdam then go somewhere else. It is however at a pretty cool bit of coast and has a good friendly vibe and FREE BREAKFAST. I'd have liked to have stayed longer. Lots of opportunities to discuss Alex Garland!

Amazing, such a fun atmosphere, staff were great.

Great hostel but my one gripe would be they need more morning shuttle runs into Amsterdam. Only two and I missed my train because there wasn't another one until 12 and 18h.

Great hostel with a great vibe. Getting out of Amsterdam to stay somewhere much more chilled was the best idea. Here you'll get party nights and lazy days, good company, cheap drinks, yummy breakfast and (mostly) friendly, helpful staff. Only drawbacks were the slightly cramped rooms (it's not a big hostel) and the bathroom floors that always seemed to be an inch deep in water. Other than that, I would thoroughly recommend heading out to Noordwijk and passing a few nights at the flying pig.

Cool place - but nowhere near Amsterdam. For what you're paying here, it's almost cheaper to stay in a slightly-pricier place IN Amsterdam. The hour-long shuttle to and from Amsterdam is 4e each way -- that's IF you've even reserved a spot. If you haven't reserved a spot, it's about 13e via bus then train into the center. It can be a drag on time and your wallet if that's what you're trying to see. If you're trying to get a local feel of the beach, then it's great! Lovely place and cool bar.

It was raining the whole time i was there. But it is a 40 min shuttle ride to the town centre. It cost 4 euro but they get in quite late to amsterdam which is annoying you dont get in till 10.30 earliest. If thats fine for you, then its a good place. But you also can stay out later than 10pm. There is a train and bus for about 10 euro. But the place had a great feel and vibe. And the beach was really good. Staff were really good

The whole place smells like urine, a lot of trippy guys walking around looking for a party that's not there. Overall just don't go. The shuttle service is garbage, it only takes 8 people while over 20 GUYS stay there every night. So the last shuttle leaves Amsterdam at 10:15, it's garbage. Stay in Amsterdam, not 20 miles out. To get there we paid a 100 euro cab because we didn't have a reservation for the shuttle (the phone number they gave for it didn't work) the website lied and said 40€. BAD

The Flying Pig Beach Hostel is exactly what I was looking for, and beach-side too! The staff were amazing- very friendly, and they all seemed to enjoy being there. This hostel is great for meeting people: the staff do a great job of keeping the party atmosphere going, even if it's just them. :) Everyone was chilling HARD (lots of smoking), so if you're looking for fast-paced excitement this isn't the place for you(apart from drinking games etc) Great stay, thanks guys! :)

One of the best hostels I've ever stayed at! The staff were so friendly and welcoming, it was like they're your best friends. Perfect location if you don't want to be right in the middle of the noise and chaos that is Amsterdam. Right on the beach, but still easy to get into the city. I will definitely be staying here again!
