Are you looking for the furthest hostel from Amsterdam, full of sandy stoners and surly employees? This is the hostel for you then! I would not recommend staying here if you are visiting Amsterdam; too far away, tiny/dirty facility.
Never coming back. Actually left a day early because it was so disappointing. Most of the staff was very unhelpful and very elitist. A lot of times we were ignored. The guests that were around too? Mostly locals that never left their own town. No one was that friendly or outgoing and it really set up a bad atmosphere for us. Disappointing that this is only some of the staff too though. The next morning the staff that was working was way more hospitable. Had I had them the first night.

The staff here are so nice and everyone is so chill. We loved the atmosphere! I would recommend booking a couple days at the Flying pig downtown so you can get a feel for Amsterdam and then do a couple days at the flying pig beach hostel! There's a shuttle that goes between the two hostels and it's only 4 euros each way and about an hour drive. Would definitely stay here again!
this hostel was so fun. staff were really chill and hung out with guests. I've made lots of friends here that I love. it's an amazing vibe here. and the beds were actually really comfortable with warm blankets.
An awesome place to meet people and make friends. It's especially easy if you smoke, as many of the more comfortable spaces are also available for smokers. I found the security to be a bit lacking... Sometimes during cleaning, they'd prop all of the doors open, including the front door, but there are lockers for valuables. Overall, this place is extremely chill and relaxed.
This is a party hostel - and was absolutely amazing. It has everything you need. It's situated in a perfect spot outside of Amsterdam and was a great way to get everything you can in Amsterdam, but on the sea in a small town. Super fun atmosphere and you'll meet a ton of travelers. Go here!
Really great, social hostel with chilled staff and great drink prices. Kitchen is okay and the hostel was always clean. Wifi was also good. Only minor issue is how loud they play the music in the morning but they do offer free earplugs so this was okay. Would definately stay here again and recommend to anyone.
If you like Pot its very social but otherwise not easy to meet people and not a great location. Town dead and little to do, shuttles were very useful!
Most fun hostel ever! Great staff and guests. A little out of Amsterdam but close to the beach and plenty of clubs and pubs close by.
Great hostel about 40 minutes from Amsterdam central. The hostel has a hippie vibe and is a favorite hangout spot for young locals. Shuttles every few hours into the city, nice free breakfast, good wifi, good people, I would highly recommend this place if you are looking to stay a little bit outside of the city
This hostel is the worse I've ever stayed in. All other party hostels ive been to outcompete It 100%. It is located 60 mins away from amsterdam and the facility smelt as if it hadnt been cleaned in ages. The atmosphere during the day is basically sitting on a sofa. The staff look at you as if you were an idiot when asking questions & had their own "staff nights'' where they would lock the common room from backpackers. I moved to the flying pig uptown asap and everything there was great!
Location not great for Amsterdam as it requires a bus and train or the hostel's shuttle bus. The hostel itself is nice, very clean and helpful staff. Pretty good atmosphere at night as well but didn't experience it much.
Great hostel, great location, friendly staff. only problem is if you are looking to go out into Amsterdam for the night, you'll have to wait until the morning shuttle (last shuttle from the downtown location to the beach hostel is at ~10pm). happy hour is great - very easy to meet people for solo travelers and friendly environment.
I had a fun time at this hostel. In a beach town way out from amsterdam where there isn't much to do at all apart from the beach. The hostel makes up for it though because theres always people smoking drinking and partying every night. The stafg are mostly friendly. I wouldn't suggest it if you dont like smoking and socialising. Very chill atmosphere by day but gets rowdier at night when the locals come into the bar. Store is down the street and they have a fully equipped kitchen with a fridge.
Although Noordvijk itself is charming, anyone coming for the Amsterdam experience should NOT stay here. Shuttle to the city takes an hour and costs 4 euros p/way. The hostel isn't as nice as its more central counterparts. Essentially just a shack, where the rooms are overcrowded and shared with staff who, through the staff door, were coming in and out of the room (not particularly safe or confidence inspiring). Staff seem inconvenienced by anything you ask. Unfriendly. Uncomfortable. Overpriced.
Didn't have any issues at all, good value for your money if you want to stay close to the beach... Very complicated to get back to the hostel from Amsterdam during the night
Dope dope dope. Fun place, great staff, great atmosphere. The only problem is getting to town. But if you book your shuttles in advance, it shouldn't be an issue.
Super chill environment and nice staff. Thanks for lletting me pla pool till 3 am!
SERIOUSLY DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU DO NOT SMOKE WEED. We don't smoke so our stay was awful. Literally all you can smell is a mixture of the weed and cigarettes that are smoked upstairs. All of the staff were either drunk, high or both so they were useless. The hostel is literally an hour away from city centre-it takes a bus ride and a train ride to get there. The only bonus was that it was five minutes away from a nice beach-where we spent most of our time.
