Nice people... location is a bit distant from Amsterdam, but it\'s on a beach, so that\'s nice. conveniently located near a market. Not much to do in the town other than the beach. Shuttle runs about 4 times a day.

i can\'t recall the last time i have walked into a hostel & instantly felt like i am home. Just as i was feeling homesick i arrived at the flying pig at the beach where the rooms are clean, the beds are comfy, the communal kitchen is ready for you to cook up a storm, free internet for all guests & a great bar, verandah & smoking room to meet other backpackers & get to know the awesome staff who are like a big family. the only problem they have here is that no one wants to leave! i will be back!!...More

This was the noisiest hostel I have ever stayed in. The outdoor smoking area was right above our room and the noise was very loud from early in the morning until 10:30pm. Even after everyone had to go inside, we were still woken up two of our four night stay by people talking outside our room. One morning a staff member woke us up around 9 using an electric saw right outside our window. I won't be rushing back

Definitely for the younger crowd or the older crowd that can still hang with the best of them. I lost my shoes, but I take it as additional payment, as the hostel is a true steal. I am going back soon and for a much longer time. This Flying Pig hostel is the only one out of amsterdam, which I think adds value. The beach is number one in Holland. I think that the decision should be quite easy for you. GO!

Just beware that if you go, you might not want to leave, it always seems to be 'one more night' that youre staying. Staff were great, really clean and easy to stay at. Would reccomend it endlessly for a nice little break after Amsterdam.

You guys truly made this a home away from home for me. I will definately make this a regular pitstop in my travels.
