Worst hostel experience ever. They could not get me decent bed, first they say I am on number 4 then 3 then 1. when i got to the room at night i saw all the beds occupied. They have no clue what they are doing, I wiuld not recommend this place to anyone

The Flying Pig Downtown has a great location, and the lobby is very nice with a cheap bar, pool table and a smoking room for everyone who needs it. The rooms are okay in size, although it always smelled very bad in them. They toilets and showers are pretty disgusting and the staff doesn't really seem motivated and/or friendly at all. It always seems like you're bothering them doing something important like hanging out at the bar...

The Flying Pig was fantastic. A true experience in Amsterdam by itself. The exclusivity plays a massive factor, just knowing that if I was not staying at the Pig, I could not have experienced it. I think it truly made my four night stay in Amsterdam much better. The staff, accommodations, free ear-plugs, and location were fantastic.

Great location and quite cheap. Breakfast is pretty much nothing, but it is cool, that is included. Showers are a joke (very small) and there is hardly wifi in the rooms. The bar is always crowded and a good place to meet other people, but there is only space for 10-15 people in the smoking area. So all in all it is a average backpacker/reefers hostels in Amsterdam, perfectly situated and cheap. But not very clean with poor facilities and bad wi-fi. But it is Amsterdam, so one shouldn´t care

We had a great time in Amsterdam. we were there for 2 nights, one of the nights we wanted a bar that was chilled, good music, good atmosphere and cheap. We were going to find somewhere until we realised that the Hostel bar had it all covered! Great place to stay, central, clean, comfy (free bedding), quiet where needed and great atmosphere. Only negatives, although minimal, were too few showers and the rooms were too hot!

Flying Pig Downtown has a very likeable atmosphere. The bar, the smoker's room, the people... it's a place where young people feel very welcome. Only problem is: THE MUSIC IN THE LOBBY IS WAY TOO LOUD. It's nearly impossible to understand each-other and frankly it's really annoying.

Despite great location, warm staff and whole environment, you need to ensure wi-fi is available everywhere incl. rooms and improve breakfast. I'd better pay up to 5 euros for a quality breakfast until 11 am. Your free brekfast is very very poor and can satisfy really basic needs only if one is too hungry early in the morning.
