In front on Vonderpark but a little bit far from Red Light (15-20 min walking), in general good location! Nice staff. clean rooms and toilets, good and cheap bar. GREAT breakfast! Definitely recomended! the only problem is the shower... the place is a little bit small! but it's ok!

This place was the best! The bar area downstairs was a lot of fun. And the dorms still managed to be nice and quiet. Good combination.

Pros: Breakfast included, great staff, nice area downstairs to hang out, smoking room Cons: location was far from the center and metro tickets were really expensive, super claustrophic hallways and bathrooms especially, no elevator and staircase really narrow I would advise people to stay in the downtown location

The downstairs bars walls were messed up if u were high on some thing. The hostel had cheap beers. The smoke room just wreaked of pot and smoke just gross. U couldn't smell it anywhere else in the hostel just a great air filtration system, but I won't get into that. Two washrooms on each floor and two showers one better then the other but I dont want to ruin the surprise for u. Hehe. Lockers in the room were a nice touch. Flying pig I sauté u.

It was probably the nicest showers. The rooms are big and they fit a lot of people in them but it didn't bother me much. They serve one of the best breakfasts

Met so many nice people, the hotel was in a perfect location. We literally could run home from the clubs that's how close it was! The staff was so friendly and the beds were clean! I would recommend the flying pig uptown 100%!

the beds squeak every time you make a slight movement and everyone in the room can hear it, otherwise it was great stay

The toilets and some of the showers were too small. It was not even possible to put a small backpack in the toilet. I have never seen toilets that are this small. Even toilet stalls in the airports are bigger. Hard to catch sleep in the hostel as people are constantly coming in going out and swithing the lights on and off. If you like to smoke some pot, this is the place for you, a lot of other potheads in the hotel and they also have dedicated room for smoking. Why are the stairways so narrow?

This hostel was awesome! It's loud downstairs in the bar and smoke room but quiet in the actual rooms. It's really busy so book in advance! Right next to a park, it's not too far from the downtown area. The staff is helpful and friendly and the drinks at the bar are nicely priced. Free wifi is available but the best signal is in the bar area. Very few plugs all around - our 12 bed dorm only had one in an inconvenient place. They also have a cat - say hi to Lola when you visit!

Great, friendly staff who were willing to help at all times with any questions that we had. Lovely atmosphere for getting to know other travellers and seeing what having fun in Amsterdam is about.

I thought the Flying Pig Uptown was the BEST hostel I have stayed in. The location was amazing! Right across the street from Vondel Park and around the corner from the Van Gogh and Rijks Museum's. The atmosphere inside the hostel was great. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff, and a huge amount of diversity in it's guests. I will totally recommend this hostel to anyone I know thats planning a trip to Amsterdam, and I myself will definitely be staying here again during my next trip to Amsterdam

SUPER loud, especially if you're on the bottom floor. Fine if you're up and out until 4am, sucks if you want to be asleep before then. Kitchen is also very small, and they need more bathrooms.
