It was my 3rd time at the flying pig uptown,and first time after the refurbishment. the smoking room is much better than the previous solution of smokin' in the kitchen.The bar is great, great prices!BUT the new place of the reception is a pain in the ass.you have to climb two different staircases and with luggage on u it kinda sucks.the lockers are great!room was clean everytime I came back.I guess it won't be my last time.Oh, And the wifi signal is too weak.

Very nice hostel with cool people and staff. Amazing atmosphere every night and great service for money.

They lost my USB cable for my external HD. I leave it in reception with my laptop. There is a lot of noise at night when someone walks down the stairs so you can't sleep.

I stayed at the fling pig for Christmas and it was amazing! Very fun atmosphere, the staff is great and always ready to help. The breakfast is also really good. I definitely recommend this hostel to those wanting to have a good time and meet new people. I will definitely be back!

Beyond the bathrooms and kitchen being a bit messy/small, the hostel was FANTASTIC. Great atmosphere, great staff, tons of fun. Keep it up guys.

The Flying Pig was everything I want in a hostel. The rooms & public areas were kept very clean, the staff was helpful, & the hostel itself was within walking distance to dozens of attractions & a number of tours. The bar & smoking lounge made it easy to socialize with other travelers, & there were posters everywhere advertising tours & events around town & within the hostel (for example, for a small fee you could take part in a Christmas dinner prepared by the staff). Highly recommended.

This was an OK place to stay. For your info, you can have beds for couples in dorms.

I stayed at the Flying Pig Uptown during the Christmas weekend. I'm not sure if it was just because the regular staff was off that weekend, but I found the staff to be friendly but not very knowledgeable or helpful when it came to tourist information, transportation, and logistics. Staying here is still worth it, just be prepared with your own information and don't expect much help from the hostel staff. One the plus side they offered a great Christmas dinner!

Best Hostel ever for anyone who want to have fun in Amsterdam and wake up after a long night with some breakfast with others smyling Zombies

This hostel is amazing! We didn't even need to go out at night because we were partying at the bar downstairs with the friends we met who were staying in the same room as us. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a good time! Everything was so clean and very up to date. Thanks again for an awesome time!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Flying Pig Uptown. The location is perfect-- an easy walk to cafés, but not near the red light district. It is surrounded my numerous great shops and coffee shops (actual coffee places) and is very close t the Rijksmuseum. It is also next to a park that is perfect for running. There is a bar on the lowest level where you can meet a lot of great people and hang out, but the rooms are fairly quiet. This hostel also had a great kitchen area that was well-stocked.

They have to build an elevator, 4th floor is just way too far

Nice comfy beds that were big enough. Clean beds and sheets already fitted on the beds for you. Lockers under the beds which I liked - could lock my valuables in the room if i wanted to. Only downside was that the rooms had no individual bed lights or lighting for each individual bed that wouldn't blind the entire room if the lights were switched on. And had to climb sooo many steps to get to the third floor which i was sleeping on. Tiring trek. And toilets were tiny but okay. (:

This hostel was improvised at a typical dutch house, which means: absolutely small. The bathrooms are the tiniests I have ever seen and insufficient for the amount of people they receive. If you stay there, I recommend the rooms with four beds ‘cause they have their own bathrooms. There’s a bar, however, the noise does not disturb the rooms. The staff is ok.

Nice hostel, good breakfast included and nice cheap bar next to the reception. The only thing I hated was the stairs, I was in the 4th floor and it was hell going up and down 5 or 6 times a day.

The location is good, near the leidseplein. The hostel is very clean and the bar is good! ;) but there's only 2shower for floor and 2wc -.-'
