Excellent hostel! Good bar downstairs, smoking area inside the building. The place is clean, the kitchen is well equipped it's small but clean. Bathrooms and rooms are clean. Security lockers under all the beds. 20min walk into the RLD 2 min walk to Leidseplein. Hostel is directly across the road from Vondelpark you can see it out the window. I recommend coming to Amsterdam for at least a week spend 3 or 4 days here. Then 3 or 4 in RLD. Bar staff are a lot of fun to drink with

Very easy going and friendly atmosphere, never afraid to ask questions. Beds and facilities fine. Breakfast was brilliant (although I'd prefer larger tea and coffee cups!). There seemed to be a slight problem with the card key slot at the main entrance. Sometimes it would work, other times not but of course you could alternatively talk your way in.

For what you pay for, this hostel is a little overrated. Stayed at much bigger, cleaner places for half the price.

Cool hostel, everybody is very mellow which is to be expected. Only issue was with the wifi which couldn't handle so many people using it at the same time.

Flying Pig Uptown was a great hostel. Its not right in the center but its a close walk to everything. Really great staff. Definitely a part hostel though,.. so if you aren't ready to party, I would go somewhere else.

Had a great stay here and enjoyed the relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The staff were very helpful and made sure you were welcome and got to know your name and where you were from. I really liked the bar and it had a good selection of drinks at reasonable prices. The rooms were very clean and the staff made sure that everything was just as you needed. To meet people from different countries is always great and here you will meet the best of them as they make their way around Europe!!

Nice stay, but really a loud, crowded party hostel with no chance to get a quiet minute in the community area/ bar and reception area. It's easy to connect with other people, but a lot of young lazy travellers you pass by as well. Location is perfect near Leidse Plein, staff is super friendly, kitchen is a mess, but okay - it's a big hostel with a lot of people. Breakfast is really good for the price!

Hi there, Thanks a lot for your feedback! We can learn a lot from your experience with us, so we really appreciate it you took the time to fill this out. We are sorry to read you found the hostel a bit loud. The bar is open until 3 in the morning and a lot of our guests like to party, but we are also try to keep the noise down for our other guests of course. We do have free earplugs at the reception. We are glad you liked your stay anyway though! Hopefully we'll see you again in the future! Cheers, The Flying Pig Uptown

Good hostel with friendly, helpful staff. There is a bar - though it is pretty much a stoner's den or otherwise filled with people on their laptops etc (there's no wifi in the rooms), so there is little atmosphere down there. Of course that might be your thing.

The Flying Pig Uptown is in the best location. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and the staff were helpful. The free breakfast has lots of variety and doesn't end till 11 so there's no rush to wake up.
