This Flying Pig is located in the centre of Amsterdam in the midst of the city's crazy & funky nightlife. The Uptown hostel has a unique position because it can offer you the best of both worlds: You are close to all of Amsterdam's pleasures but with a green and lively 'Vondelpark' as your backyard!
Uptown is somewhat smaller in size than other fellow Amsterdam hostels, which explains its people orientated character. The hostel presents you with a perfect blend between a laidback and inviting atmosphere & those crazy Amsterdam party vibes. Kick off your night in the hostel basement-bar: It is the best place to meet other travelers, there are regular theme-parties and we sell the cheapest beer in town! Then move to the Leidseplein (square) where you can refuel at one of the many pubs or coffee shops. Move next-door to bring your evening to a climax in the so-called pop-temple the Paradiso or in the famous milk factory-club Melkweg!
During the day you can stroll around the many markets (such as the Albert Cuijp) in the Pijp area. If you are looking for some culture, the van Gogh museum, the Stedelijk museum or the Rembrandt museum are just around the corner.
Enjoy a couple of beers at the Heineken Museum or park yourself with a 'pleasant smoke', a Dutch beer and your (new) friends in the green Vondelpark. You can also borrow our free hostel-skates, watch free movies on comfy lounge pillows or join one of our free walking tours. When you really can't party anymore, you can laugh off your hang-over at one of the comedy clubs and cafes around the Leidse plein (square). Not only is there much to do around the Uptown hostel, it is also easy to access other areas such as the Red light district or the Jordaan.
