I would highly recommend this hostel. It is the perfect location for hiking around fort William and is an easy walk from the start of the Ben Nevis trail and the town centre with restaurants etc. The staff are very knowledgable and gave us great advice about hiking and even organised some of our group to hire hiking boots. There is a great friendly atmosphere and I would definitely stay here again!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Fort William Backpackers. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming and after a tiring journey this was just what I needed. Although I arrived way before checking in time I was made most welcome and invited to make myself a drink and leave my bags. I wouldn't recommend it to somebody who wanted a quiet retreat but the welcome and friendliness of both the staff and other guests was tops. The location is excellent for the train and local facilities.

Very cosy hostel with a friendly staff, comfy beds, and nice common rooms. Just a short walk from the town center. We had a great stay here!

Great friendly staff. Location really good, close to town etc. Montrose mattress needs replacing as it was very wirey and a bit uncomfortable, and downstairs shower needs to be fixed so that you dont scald yourself. However it is not a hotel and i understand that. Overall a really great place to stay and will be recommending it to others for sure. xx

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay here. It was close to nice hiking and sitting by the fire was the perfect way to end a tiring day. Very friendly staff and clean facilities. We only wished that the communal guitar was fully-functioning!

I arrived 30 mins before 5pm and just walked through the house and spoke to some residents waiting to be shown there room. I left to meet up with my brother and when I described the house he did not seem impressed. So we did not stay we went to another b&b.

Was a lovely place to stay. The staff made us feel very welcome, the facilities were great (except the shower downstairs!) and the open fire in the loungeroom was awesome.

I had the pleasure to stay in this remarkable hostel. What makes this place so attractive is the hospitality of the manager; in fact he is in a way an entertainer who provides you with all the help he can give you. For example he gave me for free use his ice-crampons so I could safely climb the Ben Nevis in the snow. This hostell creates a kind of unique feeling which I did not experience in other hostels. I really felt at home and I'm sure all the others too. Thanks a lot. Jan Everaet Belgium

A very friendly hostel and we had a great stay. It's atmosphere and style is typical of a travel backpacker hostel, rather than a walkers' hostel. Kitchen and bathrooms a bit limited in space given the number of people accommodated.
