The hostel was close to the train station and the downtown area which was a positive. However, the hostel overall felt grimy. There were random occurrences of mold and the showers were a bit of a mess - there was often a line because there weren't enough showers for the amount of people packed in.

Lovely, easy going staff. Close to town. Cute little fire place. Was a little cold in rooms, but it is cold weather..

The staff were great! As somebody had the window open to air out there walking stuff, I asked for another blanket and got one. The hostel is close to the city center with a good view. I didn't stay long in the hostel but it had what I needed a bed and hot shower! Plus it was quiet. A place to hang clothes in the shower would be nice.

Everything was great apart from the beds, they weren't comfy at all - too old and worn out.

does the job. Unfortunately, no real atmosphere despite plenty of potential. also if your location is Fort William, ie the start and arrival of a lot of hiking path, you may want to think of having a drying room large enough to fit tents ( and not just a cupboard named "dryroom")

Really nice staff, nice tips about what to do and to visit. Free car park in the front door!! It´s a really nice place to stay and to meet people. 100% recommended.

The hostel itself was fine, and in a cool looking old house, but don't come here if you're expecting good service. They were not rude, but it was very apparent it was staffed by volunteers that are working for their stay and that's about all they are about. There is hardly ever anyone at reception (they have a call button but on two occasions nobody ever came), and instead of staying at a hostel it felt like we were staying in the staff's house and we were just there as an extra.

I didnt like it here, it felt scuzzy and cramped. Plus, the bed was broken and fixed with pieces of cardboard underneath....so the bed collpased when i got in it, and it happened to another girl too! Shocking! Get some new beds before someone is injured!

Good location - short walk from the town, the train station and easy to get to different walking trails in the area. Friendly staff and good atmosphere. I especially enjoyed the fireplace in chilly evenings :) Cute place.

Not well organized, one of us had to sleep in the staff room because even if we've made a reservation they didn't have enough place. We slept for free thanks to it but mattress are full of springs and I've never sleep that bad in others hostels.

Very convenient location as it's the closest backpackers hostel I could find from the train station, though a bit of a hike to get to the door. Basic facilities, sufficient for 1/2 nights' stay. Love the wooden bunk (but not in all rooms), more sturdy than those assembled ones. Doors tend to slam quite loudly when release, unintentionally startling sleeping/resting lodgers in the room. Booked an all female room, but arrived to a mixed room. Some may not feel comfortable though I was OK with it.

Dirty old crappy bathrooms. Cockoach in the hallway! Nobody was at reception at that moment so I couldn't show it. No power socket in the rooms. Wifi was slow and only in the reception. Drying room was great as well as many advices for ben Nevis climbing. Atmosphere is nice with fireside room. It could be a great hostel but it is definitely NOT. It is a crappy old one instead ! Funny sentences on the walls is not enough to be a good hostel of the new era of youth hostelling!

The hostel is really well located near the town centre, bus station and train station. It is also right near the entrance to a number of walking trails. There are no lockers in the rooms but other than that the facilities were nice with a fireplace in the lounge and a decent kitchen etc.
