while not the most convenient location, the experience made it totally worth it!

Unfortunately we didn't arrive until late(11pm)and were greeted by a pretty grumpy old man in a night gown swearing at us. It took us about an hour to find from Limerick (not the best directions) and aside from the fact it's in an old castle like building, the amenities are not too great. Have to hold down a button for the shower the whole time. But better than sleeping outside.

If you're looking for a calm place in a quiet setting, this is it! It's a very charming place and a great hostel.

The bathrooms are smelly portable buildings. You have to push down and hold the faucet for hot water or you get a cold shower. No hand soap in the bathrooms. Not close to food or restaurants. You don't get any information about the castle's history. Shame, since it's a beautiful historic castle. You only see the manager when he takes your money. Otherwise, you're on your own. People stole our food out of the fridge, too. Very unpleasant experience.

I'm really disappointed. I wasted my money. The olace has nothing to do with the description on the web site. It's not as castle at all, it's just a tower, it's in the middle of nowhere and as we didn'i have a car we couldn't have dinner as the nearest shop in the evening is in kilkenny! You have absolutely nothing to do! I regret very much the choice I made and I hope somebody makes it clear on the web page that it's just a tower in the middle of nowhere!

Out of town but great for a group having a night in, we still had a late one, with lots of memories!

We would definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone going to Kilkenny. We had a car so location was not a problem plus it adds to the atmosphere of staying at a castle! Zoe and Jack were more than happy to answer any questions we had for them which included the many ghost stories they weren't shy in sharing! Overall an awesome experience and definitely not one to be forgotten!!

Its out of the way, but the fact that its a castle makes up for that!
