Friendly staff, very secure enviornment, lots of young travellers there who could all mingle in their social areas downstairs.

Someday Mingling will regain its throne from Free Wifi and become once again the main focus of hostels...and the Four Courts will be proud to have been there all along. What will all those drunken cats playing pianos on the web do then? Will they adapt and start wearing little cat backpacks or simply end up on cruise ships playing theme tune jingles? Mingle..or save the kittens? Your choice... I'm a dog lover myself.

If you spent the night just to sleep its ok If like me you travel alone its not a very good hostel everyone stays with their own group And if you wanna meet People just go to a bar

... or make a wee bit of effort to strike up conversation in the kitchen, sitting at the pcs, in the more intimatedownstairs tv room or in your dorm room. Other means of meeting people are the 3 seperate free walking tours each day and as you rightly point out, the pub or more importantly the hostel pub crawl every night. Some of the groups you mention are made up of single travelers that are all like minded and clicked together in an enthusiastic fashion. It's a two way dance.

Great hostel with an excellent location right in the heart of the city, within walking distance to many of the major attractions. The facilities were good and the staff extremely nice and helpful.

If anyone is feeling tired or unhappy we will show them your picture and let your positivity bring sunshine to them as well. We will put it in a frame and mount it on a stick for easy and effective presentation. In other words, many thanks for simply enjoying yourself. Enjoy the rest of your trip.

That is THE hostel of Dublin - clean, friendly and close to the city center. Free Coffee at breakfast!

It was nice for a hostel. The only thing we had difficulty with were the locks for the cages to secure our belongings. We had to try a couple of different locks and get creative on how to fasten the cages because someone had bought locks that had U rods that were not very long and were almost too thick to fit through the spaces.

Exciting times indeed. Four Courts Hostel, we even make locking your bag fun. Look forward to the movie version...you could call it 'Lock Down', get Sylvester Stallone in it and make sure it's in 3d.

Clean, comfortable hostel. Staff was friendly and helpful, answered my million questions, and was familiar with the walking tours/sites/bar crawl and could give good recommendations. My 8 bed ensuite had just one bathroom, but there were extra showers outside the room. Overall no problems. Location is right by the river, which is nice because it's central without being in the noisy part of town and catching most of the buses for tours of out of the city is an easy walk down the street.

Loved it. A great place for a big hostel. Everything needed at the hostel and near most things.

I stayed in two different hostels during my stay in Dublin. The four courts is everything you need and you expect. That is from my personal experience. But anyhow, you will not regret staying at four courts hostel!

Each hostel is different and offer a different vibe and energy as do the guests that enter them. That's the beauty of hostels. Our location is great for The Guinness storehouse,Jameson whiskey distillery, Christchurch, Viking Museum, Zoo, Brazen head-oldest pub in Ireland and Temple bar all within our radius, and with a great river view. Our staff give honest advice based on thier own experiences, it depends on the individuals after that to take from it what they want. Glad you enjoyed your stay

I stayed in a 16 bed dorm. I thought two showers and two toilets would be too little for the amount of people, but surprisingly they were empty most of the time, except the morning and the evening 'rush' hour. There was also extra toilet and shower in the big hall for those who like more privacy. All was clean. Locker under bed is great, I picked this hostel cause in some others they charge it. There is a big common area, however most people were on their laptops/phones. Still, I'd recommend.

ended up staying here an extra 3 nights. staff are excellent and it's a big hostel that still retains a smaller hostel feel. pub crawl great meeting place for solo travellers.

Not the best location, but not too far from the Temple district. Stayed in a Twin Room - tiny beds (probably children's' beds), noisy (there was a loud air con unit running full blast at the opposite window. It had a well used look about it and could probably do with a make over. Will most likely stay elsewhere next time - this hostel was satisfactory and served it's purpose well... but.

Bit of a weird vibe from the other travellers. Friendly staff though for the most part.

The location is perfect, the staff is very friendly and welcoming, they include the breakfast!! (something we didn't know and it was a wonderful surprise :P ) The rooms are very clean and each one has an en-suite toilet with a shower, which is very handy to avoid walking wrapped in your towel all around the hostel hahaha.

My room (6 bed only woman) was big and confortable, with a case for locking your bagage and a clean bathroom inside. Room was in a 3rd floor with elevator (lovely view of the Four Courts and the river right through the window). Not many electric plugs in the room and Wi-Fi signal was weak, but worked. Great common areas with lots of facilities (pool, computers, TV, big tables, kitchen, etc). Breakfast was good. 7-10 minutes walk to the center. I'd come back.

That's the spirit.

Excellent location and security. The breakfast gets too crowded and it's difficult to find a table or even walk. The rooms and beds are in good shape. The staff is helpful and they are always there.
