This is in an excellent location, however it desperatelty needs an overhaul.the room wasnt far off a cell, but the bedding was clean and comfy. Holes in the wall and ceiling where things had been ripped out.bathroom facilities very basic. Lots of parking and reasonbly priced. We have stayed in many hostels in nz so feel this is a fair judgement of here.

Lot of films in the hard drive in the TV room Staff not very friendly and helpful Heat not working in the room
Free wifi limites to 200MB is not enough for the price paid. Overall, good hostel 8/10.
When we arrived to Fox Glacier, the entire town was without power, so this review may be a little jaded. Luckily the hostel had a generator which they had directed to power the water heater and hall lights. The rooms were without power, heat, and WiFi. The staff was very accommodating to the power outage. They gave us chocolate for easter and opened up the bar area so we could all use the lights and heater they had set up. There was no one there to check-in before 2pm which was a pain.
Common room could be bigger as well as kitchen. Nice that bar is attached to the hostel. Really nice and decent food! Location was very good and the freshly baked scones in the morning made my day !! Very delicious :-)
Clean and confortable place perfectly located in the village to go explore the glacier or the lake. The place is a bit small though; for the amount of people and dorms, it would definitely need more showers, and a bigger kitchen and lounge so people can actually hang out and not be stuck in small dorms. It also needs lockers for everyone. Otherwise, the place is good to sleep.
The free WiFi is 200MB/day booked rather than unlimited.
A big and clean facility, though the building where the dorms are feels rather sterile. Just 2 side-by-side power outlets in the room for 4 people.
The place was not the best in the world, but it is affordable, near to glacier guides. Shane, the proprietor was absolutely gracious and charming. He really makes the place!
It's ok to check in at 2pm. But not having anyone there from 10am to 2 pm is something guests are not looking for.
