I felt like it was more a bar with a backpacker facilities than the contrary. The room was cold and dirty (lots of hairs on the blankets), so was the shower (insects and not hot water at 7pm). The kitchen was not working (three cookers, but just one works, and just with two plaques out of four), and there's not really space

Did not feel welcome here. The staff were rude and our room, although clean had a funny smell

I stayed only 2 nights there but nice stay, very simple rooms but clean, bed could be more comfortable and kitchen could be cleaner than that but it's a good value for money. Fox Glacier is very small town so the location is nice. Nice guy at the reception, he gave me good advices !

Since there are not many alternatives around it is still a very comfy hostel. We had a shared double and stayed a lot in the room cause we caught a cold. Even under these unfortunately circumstances we felt comfortable. The fascillities are clean and close. The in house pub provides good value for money food.

This hostel was the perfect location for me who was doing the Fox Glacier Half Day walk. The Fox Glacier building was right across the street from the hostel. The staff at Fox Glacier Inn were extremely friendly and helpful. The hostel room I stayed in seemed slightly dirty (especially the bathroom), but the kitchen was great and was cleaned daily. I would stay there again.

The owner was incredibly friendly and made me feel very welcome. I really liked the small tour at night to see the glowworms!

Located at the center of this small town. WiFi is not free, IIRC 5 NZD. The receptionist wasnt much informative (maybe is more communicative towards women) and is to be found rather at the adjacent pub tapping beer. Bathroom was clean and very spacious, but the room! I stayed at 4 bed dorm, 2 beds, 1 bunkbed, and it is not possible for 4 people and their stuff to stay in there, so small and cramped! And my upper bunk bed - very soft and noisy, my every turn was heard!

A bit of free salt in the kitchen would have been nice, and the knives were very blunt (like in every hostel). But the rooms were great, with even our own TV, shower and toilet. The matrasses however, could be replaced by new, double ones, because when you lay on the edge it really hurt.

Staff were really helpful. Rooms were basic but well maintained. Location was central to everything you need and good value for a short stay.

Staff were lovely, offered us a nice deal for an extra night, and was a minute walk from the activity place.

It was a little plain, and checkout was only at specific hours. Other than that, we had a great stay!

Not so nice hostel. Clean with TV in the room but rude staff. Next door hostel seems way better.
