It's a nice place to stay in the center of St. Petersburg, and quite inexpensive. It's already the second time I stayed here, and will gladly stay here again if I have an opportunity to visit St. Petersburg in the future.

In Fredericks Hostel, nobody speaks English, so for russian people is ok, for travellar who don't speak english it's really difficult. There are no lockers, that's a big problem. The beds are old and unconfortable, staff isn't very polite and motivated. For the price and the location ok, but nothing special and no place to meet nice people to speak.

Negatives Out on a limb, 40 mins to City Centre including Metro journey Not very clean No kitchen- fridge and microwave only. Staff don't speak English Lack of security. Appears full of transient workers. Daughter didn't feel safe. Positives Registered our visa's One member of staff tried using google translate. Cheap but not cheerful...shop around!

It was an average place, with a good location and clean and comfortable beds. Also, it has two toilets and a huge bath. The problems are lacking of security (we didn't receive any key for the block or for the entrance to the hostel, and there were any locker neither) and staff with zero knowledge of english, which is very awkard when you are a foreigner in Russia.

The room we were offered first (room for 5) was smelly and really really poor looking, dirty carpet and mattresses. Seemed like it was never cleaned. Luckily they had a smaller room which was just as smelly, but at least was not too dirty. We liked stuff straight away, besides the time when three of us and another two people from this hostel were waiting the receptionshist to wake up and open the door for us. They were really rude afterwards! I will never ever stay there again!

1. The staff didn't speak English at all. 2. It was said that we get breakfast, the receptionist herself promised we will get and of course we didn't. 3. After the first night we were moved to another hostel which didn't even have toilet paper. We waited outside the receptionist for 2 and half hours and of course she didn't appear. Luckily, at the end we found out that our luggage was waiting inside the hostel and there were beds for all of us.
