We thought it was very much worth it given the location and the price. Only one critical comment: normally, there is a sheet, separating the body from the comforter (or blanket). We did not have that, and since we did not know when was the last time the comforters were washed, that made us feel a bit uncomfortable. But this is the only critical comment. Given that it was Egypt, it is the best one can get for their dollar! The guys working there were very helpful and friendly!

We really liked this hostel! The staff are very friendly and nice. We weren't sure if we were in the right place at first because its on the top floor of a building. The entryway is really nice and the welcome tea is fabulous. The desk guys are helpful with recommendations and have nice maps that are great. Its very close the the museum as well! Our room was massive and the bathrooms were very clean with hot water. Definitely recommend it.

Quite a nice surprise as we walked in through a less than inviting lobby and up lots of stairs then when you enter the hostel it is like entering a little palace.

Having stayed in many hostels I have to give this one full marks. Very clean and comfortable, and there was always hot water in the showers and faucets. Everyone who works there is very nice and honest, will not try to rip you off on anything, and will help you find your way around. and if you happen to play Texas Hold'em on Facebook you'll all get along great!

We stayed two nights at Freedom Hostel and we were pleasantly surprised at how clean the facilities are. The staff are very friendly and hospitable, and even recommended some tours we can take whilst in Cairo. Great breakfast! Cons: we had trouble finding the place initially as there are barely street signs and even if there were it was all in Arabic. However, we were able to track down someone from the hostel and they were so great to meet us where we were and walked us to the hostel.

Freedom Hostel was a lovely place to stay in the heart of Cairo. Very helpful and nice staff, clean rooms and nice bathroom. Wifi was 20 E.L.per night or 30 E.L. for wifi plus a bottle of water and some other things.

Great hostel located just a few minutes from Tahrir. The guys there are really cool and fun to hang out with, and they are very trustworthy. Good mix of travelers coming through and good common area. Basic but good breakfast, hot showers and cheap laundry. I stayed here twice and would definitely stay again.

Very good bathrooms, kitchen and beds. Location good, walk distance of many important places.Breakfast basic (egg, cafe, bread, butter, honney). They have to improve the furniture, there is no table where to take the breakfast or dinner or use your notebook. In bedrooms you don't have a shelf or closet where to leave your clothes, so everithing goes to the floor. They charge 30 extra EGP for wiffi and towels; accordingly to the price I think this should be included.

This is definetely one of the best hostels in town, well located and with a superb and efficient staff. Rooms have A/C and are not noisy. Everything is 100% clean. Highly recomended.

We spent three nights at this hostel and was great. Well located in downtown close to all the amenities you may need. We had a clean and confortable ensuit room for a very good value. Wifi for 20 egyptian pounds a day ( about 2 british pounds). The best thing was the staff, always kind and friendly and willing to help with a bit smile on their faces at all times. They gave us very good advices on what to do and how to get there. The only down point was the breakfast. I would definitedly repeat.

The hostel is located on third floor without an elevator. It is might be a problem if you have lots of luggage to carry.

After a long bus taking, it is nice to get hot tea when we just arrived at Cairo. The hostel is pretty clean and cheap and near meteo station. The stuffs are very friendly, they recommand many nice restaurants and gave us some useful information in Cairo. It is the best choice to stay in Cairo. We stayed here for 3 nights and will come back again!

The hostel is located in downtown, is a clean place with a very nice staff, they also help you to arrange the plans to go to the pyramids and around Cairo. Although I just stayed one night there, on my way back, the staff helped me to get around the city and do some tours before going to the airport.

I have stayed in almost 100 hostels throughout Europe and Africa, and this would have to be in the top five. The staff were incredibly helpful and were able to organise a very affordable day trip to the Giza Pyramids with a taxi guide included. They also organised a trip to other pyramids at Dahshur and Maydoum. The showers were very spacious and they never ran out of hot water. The private rooms were very affordable and breakfast was free! Highly recommended.

Everything was very good. Even though, It has to be highlighted that the wi fi access is not included in the prize and it has to be paid separately and it´s quite expensive (20 pounds a day). Apart from that I really enjoy staying there. Thanks.-

The staff definitely makes it worth a stay at this hostel. They are willing to help you with absolutely anything and are always trying to make you as comfortable as possible. Add in the great location, free breakfast and comfy beds and it's certainly worth a 100% rating.
