About Freeman Lodge
Freeman Lodge' is a small clean and friendly hostel-guesthouse for travellers. Situated in West Richmond it is the closest hostel to the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MGC) cricket, Aussie rules, athletics, the Tennis centre (Australian Open) Vodaphone Arena (Popshows) and the Fitzroy Gardens (Captain Cook's cottage). The City is but a short walk away.
Freeman lodge is well placed for all that you want in Melbourne....with the City skyline, but a blink away.
With sporting and musik events,a pleasant stroll away.
The most beautiful park, some foot steps away.
The Beach, yes the sea, a short bus ride away.
This is a safe,secure and tranquil place where you may find your true self.It is close to Bridge Road where there is a post office, supermarket, restaurants and funky fashion factory outlet shops . Go for a pleasant 20 minute walk through the Fitzroy gardens and you will find yourself in the centre of Melbourne with all its wonderful shops, theatres and people. Public transport ,trains and trams,are close by, Yes outside and also around the corner. Bus to St Kilda beach and Elwood beach ,stops outside the hostel.
Facilities are double, single , twin and shared rooms which are spacious and have a fridge and hand basin. Most rooms also have a TV . Linen and towels are provided. There are also small cosy female dorms and yes, they have a hair dryer.
The shared bathrooms and toilets are clean. Our kitchen has all that you require to use and there is a cosy lounge for quiet reading plus a TV lounge-common room also available for guests. 'Keith' our popular and loved housecat will keep you company and entertained with his many poses.To keep you in contact with family and friends there is internet access, a payphone and fax in the building.
Tour advice is available for the guests.
