Top floor for guest and amenities, are excellent , great for meeting people. The best I have seen, unfortunately, most rooms, no windows, no air, smell musty(advantage, the light and the noise don`t wake you up).

Classic backpacker hostel, good for socialising but more basic than luxury although not as unclean as some of the previous reviews led me to believe. If you're not high maintenance and don't mind somewhere a bit rough round the edges but with character I'd say give it a try. Not too far a walk from the Instrumous (spelling?) area too, definitely walking distance.

Not very clean, found some cockroaches in the toilet. n my reservation for a 4 guest dorm was changed to 10 guest dorm.

I did not even stay here! I checked in, saw the room and left for the hostel 3 doors down; Where2Next, which is very clean, big rooms, very friendly staff. Friendly's Guesthouse might have lots of Backpackers to chat to and the chill-out area looks nice...I was bitten by bugs just from sitting on the couch. The dorms smell bad and look horrible...it looks like there would be some very friendly bedbugs! Would never stay here.

The place is quite worn down. Had to relocate 2 times because the first two rooms were smelling unbearably bad. The facilities seems to be cleaned regularly but what the place needs is a general overhaul! The common area is quite nice though.

Very friendly and helpful staff plus the NY dinner was surprisingly awesome. Can definitely recommend though I wish they would get a restaurant at the top of it so we didn't have to hunt around the area though that does add some adventure to the trip.

I had the best time on my stay at Friendly's. I will return here for sure! As a sole backpacker, it was great to get together with people when they arranged a BBQ on friday night and cheese & wine on the saturday night. Staff were always super helpful and friendly. Loved it!

Nice place to stay! Cleaniness is average, but there are much more better aspects to cover it. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. Located in backpacker's district with local food stall, bar, restaurant... and quite convenient to get around, or even out of, the city. Lounge area is very nice, always filled with other travelers who are always up for a good talk. Computers for guests to check their emails and facebook. There are good movies in the lounge area, plus FREE bottle of Rum every night
