Per Friends House 'hostel conditions,' when a group books the 6 bed dorm as individuals, they are infringing upon Friends Hostel's first priority which is to serve individual backpackers on a budget. The individual dorm beds are allocated to individual backpackers traveling on a budget so they can acquire a clean bed, free wi-fi, a healthy self-service breakfast for a very inexpensive / affordable backpacking rate. What they bring to the hostel in return is their individual experiences as they participate in a conversation of cultural exchange which is the hostel's mission: to act as a contact zone for cultural literacy through the diverse cultural exchange of backpackers. We do, nevertheless, allow groups to book the dorm as a private group space but the rates are not $16 per person per night but $26 per person per night considering the fact that you are a group and not individual backpackers. Please see Hostelworld.com room rates.
