The staff were lovely and very helpful but the location is terrible. I'm a fast walker and it took over 40 minutes to get to the city centre along a horrible busy road. The hostel is clean but the bathroom was awful - the shower tray was not sealed so water leaked everywhere during a shower. This ment that the floor was always wet and grubby. The Friends hostel is not a party place and there isn't a communal area. I use hostels as a way to meet people so i didn't have a good time at this one.The staff were lovely and very helpful but the location is terrible. Location was great for us - close to the train station, but a fair distance from the heart of Bucharest. This was the best thing about the hostel. Very close to train station, about 10 minute walk, and only about a 20 minute walk to People's Palace and the center of Bucharest. Average breakfast, laundry is 15 lev but you get free soap.
