This is an okay hostel, very cheap, close to the train station and thus very useful. The kitchen is nice, but the carpet in the dorm room was a bit smelly.

I had a nice couple of nights at the hostel :) the staff are really really good and friendly and are always helpful. Only thing I didn't like about the hostel was the group bookings they had. Because that meant there was a bit of noise, but if you can sleep through that your're fine :) also the Internet is awesome.

Nice staff, pretty good location not far from station. Bit of a walk to main sights. Good breakfast. Beware they take large bookings of school kids.

very friendly and helpfull staff, helped me with any info I ned (especially travel, Romanian customs, etc), very clean and confortable place, I liked it was close to Railway station (good choice!). I suggest they keep up with it, as I intend to come back with a group of friends and see more of Bucharest and Romania

My first stay in Bucharest, and I was welcomed by a great staff, who had great knowledge on the city. I have stayed in many, many hostels, and this one felt like I was staying in a home, which was a very comfortable feeling. The hostel was also very clean. They also like to host fun events in the lounge they have. The price is cheap for a traveler who is on a budget. Overall when I come back to Bucharest, I will certainly stay again at this place again. Excellent Experience with no complaints.

I chose this hostel for being close to the train station and i was expecting only a place to sleep, but i was surprised to find a very homey place, really clean (having even that foam to clean the toilet seat! :) ) and so friendly people! Good choice.

This hostel was more than I expected. It has a great value for money. It is very clean, has a lot of facilities (for free: hair dryer, iron, wi- fi, towels, fully equipped kitchen, board games, bed lamps, video projector, 2 computers; to borrow: maps and books). The staff was very friendly and spoke a little Italian which was nice. They were very kind and give me all the information I need about where to eat, what to see and where to go next (trains, hostels). Grazie mille Andrea,Andra,Marius!

The kitchen a little disaster, but the worst think was the toilet. How can a woman take a shower next to the window and with the door not totally closed?? Definitely awesome. And at the door they have a picture of a man looking a woman.. even they think it´s a nice joke! :S

Rooms are close to the entrance and reception. So when somebody have chat u can hear them easily.Especially when everybody is sleeping, this is a little bit disturbing.Showers are not so clean. The area is really unsafe. When we were trying to find the hostel, somebody wanted to get 10 lei to show hostel. Also supermarket near hostel didnt get us to inside for shopping and cheated us.There are a lot of people looking for money or cigars from you near hostel. Really creepy.

I have stayed in a very large number of hostels over many years, so I have an excellent idea of what is good, bad, should be done and so on and so forth. This hostel for some reason as succeeded very very well in creating what for me is very near to the perfect model.. No other hostel in which, I have stayed, has every come anywhere near to creating what I experienced at THE FRIENDS HOSTEL in Bucharest !! My thanks to all the staff and volunteers !!!!
