FriendsHouse is a solace retreat for the weary traveler jaded by the prototypical hostel experience in many metropolitan cities. My stay was a relaxing and healthy experience. Leah and Danny have provided an atmosphere that attracts good souls in pursuit of Zen. Go if you are in search of something and do not need companions as your backbone. Food was always provided: cereals, oatmeal, toast, coffee, assortment of different teas. Keep in mind, you have to be elsewhere b/w hours of 12-4PM.

Danny is the best security in town, Leah is just the best, as she\'ll make you feel as if you are a long lost relative! And she\'ll introduce you to the other guests, which means you\'ll meet lots of international visitors! Make sure you ask Danny about his Self Defense classes, very good!! And he doesn\'t mind a game of basket ball either.. -) The hostel is in a stunning area of Houston and very close to downtown Houston! I stayed in the Chicago room: I\'d stay there again anytime!

The staff was very nice and gave me free food and free shampoo. The Hostel is close to Downtown (15 minutes to walk) and easy to get to from the Greyhound-Station.

Friends house was exactley as it says, It was like staying at an old friends and I was instantly made to feel welcome. Despite ariving in the early hours of the morning my room was available for me and was alowed a lie in before sorting out the payment for the room, which was very cheap and in a great location to get to the downtown area of houston.

They are very friendly staff!! It is a small cheap Hostel and you get coffee and some cereals for breakfast free. They are also offering Bread but there is nothing to put on. Sometimes they are offering free Bananas and waterbottles. It is more than you can expect for your money. At least the Location is not the best. It is save, but not very close to the city.

We highly recommend this place for everyone looking for accomodation downtown Houston. We felt very welcomed and the hosts are extremely nice and helpful. For the cheap price we didn\'t really have any expectations but this place was beyond awesome. Our room was clean and had everything we could ask for, same for the bathroom (that we shared with one other person). We also appreciated the safe location and easy access to Washington ave. and downtown!

The location is great, staff is welcoming and very helpful. Hostelworld does not indicate the lock out period daily between 12 to 4 which can be inconvenient if you are staying there for more than 3 days. Definitely recomended

There is a lockout period that is not mentioned. They will tell you that it's flexible but they really don't want you there during it. Otherwise, Leah and Danny were great and a good location near downtown.

Probably the best hostel out of 100s around the world I've stayed in! Great hostel in a great location, just a few minutes walk from downtown. Danny and Leah (the owners) are great people. They're very genuine and make you feel at home from the moment you arrive, and really go out their way to help you if you have a question about Houston. You'll have an amazing time staying here. Thanks guys!

This was a nice, comfortable, clean place for me to stay and the staff was very friendly. It was mid-block in a quiet neighborhood and, once I figured out the shortcut, a ten-minute walk to where I needed to be in downtown Houston.

I stayed in this hostel for the first time about a month ago and had a great time. Leah & Danny, the hosts, have been very helpful. The first time I stayed at the hostel they upgraded me from a dorm to a private room. Besides the business relationship I feel within time we will build a long term friendship. As of now I'm staying at the hostel again. Even though I called them last minute they left me the keys to stay at their place. I appreciate what you guys have done to make my trip so pleasant
