Excellent hostel, nice common room area, lots of free stuff like BBQs on Fridays and ice cream in Wednesday. The Thursday pub crawl is decent too, not like normal ones where you get ripped off and the bars are lame. Re other comments about the dirty bathrooms, they have had a complete makeover and are brand new so all good.
I had to work while i was in the hostel but there wasn't freewifi in the hostel and the paid service was really expensive, because of that i had to spend a long time in a coofe hear the that offered 1GB free wifi a day. However people in the recepion is really friendly, but the the laundry is really expensive.
Big hostel but it doesn't feel too big. A lot of long termers but they were friendly and in general there was a good atmosphere in the hostel. Showers very good, beds quite comfy, not too noisy. Overall my stay here was good.
Great hostel! Stayed for 2 weeks in a 14 bed dorm and had a blast! Lots of young people and workers so keep that in mind but overall if you are in Auckland for an extended amount of time can't go wrong with frienz

I loved this place! It's pretty old fashioned, I love that they keep their records in a book. The computers with internet are nice but SO SLOW! I think they have pre-Windows 1999 on them. There is a full kitchen but kind of small. Those are tiny things really, everything else was awesome. The staff are great, there is free luggage storage, and storage in the rooms as well. Great time here!!
The hostel itself was wonderful. Comfortable beds, spotless bathrooms, high security and friendly, helpful staff. My only problem was in the 4 days I was there I didn't meet ANYONE. Instead of chatting in the common room people sit with their eyes glued to the TV. Not the hostel's fault but also not conducive to meeting people. There also seems to be a permanent group who all know each other and don't make much of an effort to include others. But perhaps that's just the nature of a big city
Enjoyed my stay. Much busier and larger than many of the other hostels in the city. The location is good, being directly in the city center.
Nice hostel, very clean, the staff is friendly and competent, the position is really good in the CBD. Good choice! :)
The code for the front door change so often and when it's too late and the reception is closed it happens that you are locked outside because you did not get the new code number
There is paid wifi, but still you can use one of 5 computers with free internet. Very helpful staff, especially one long hair nice girl at receptionist desk who helps us a lot with some administrative stuff.

Loved the big kitchen - a bunch of the pots aren't usable due to no handles, but I always had one while there. Great common room, helpful staff, good location!
