I've spent a week at the Hostel and it was great fun! Super relaxed and social atmosphere and the pool is nice! The 12bed dorm was a bit messy and the beds have certainly been in use for way too long but it's good value for money! Not a fancy place for flashpackers but good hostel for people on a budget. I've seen more expensive hostels in worse condition than the Frogs Hollow!

I have never seen such a disgusting place. The bathroom was so dirty (hairs, ants and dead animals in the shower and sink). There were cockroaches everywhere, especially in the kitchen. There was no air conditioning in my room and you cannot imagine the smell... Moreover, the staff is not friendly at all.

The toilets and rooms would benefit from being modernized a little and there was some horrific smells around the hostel. Also the lady on reception in a morning was not the friendliest to encounter, but the ones that I delt with at other times throughout my stay were really helpful and friendly.

Good hostel, but not excellent!

I had an absolute awesome time! Staff was really helpful when I booked my tour to Lichfield and the place has got a lot of atmosphere, good people. Always again! Beds/room was tidy and bathroom was all right. They put a sausage sizzle on when I was there which was great and easy for me to get to know a few people. They seem to know how to make us backpackers happy ;) I stayed in a few other backpackers around town before I moved to this one. Frogs Hollow is the only one I would go to again!

I had a really good time here! The people in the hostel were great, open and really friendly! Would love to come back again!

very loud during the night (till about 4.30 am)!!! a lot of people in the front of our room on the balcony which were partying, also at the back of the hostel. rooms were not clean, a lot of hairs on the floor and on the wardrobe the linen and the sheets were also full of long black hair, I'm not sure if they even were washed.

What a fantastic place full of character, staff were extremely helpful and welcoming If you are after a shiny clean new place this isn't it, I mean it is clean but not sterile. If you are like me travelling to meet people and have great experiences then this is the place to go! I will be back after I have been to Kakadu that I got at the best rate thanks for Silvia's Hardwork! Free internet, free breakfast big pool and big room.

filthy place, drunk and smoking people oudside our room, garbage (empty beer bottles etc) after the nights. dirty bathrooms and kitchen. pictures follow and go on tripadvisor.

When I arrived the lady was really unfriendly. It was obviously really hard for her to get off facebook, crack a smile and serve me. The hostel was noisy and had people up drinking until 5am one morning, there seemed to be no staff around to regulate anything, it was like free for all. It was smelly and the kitchen had animals crawling and dirty dishes with old food stack up in it for two mornings in a row. I would not recommend this to anyone. There are far better and funner hostels in Darwin.

The atmosphere of the Hostel was nice and relaxed. But it is a longer way to the city center and the other backpackers are often older and stay in Darwin for a longer amount of time. The stay was totally fine, but I wanted more action experiences so I moved to another Hostel right at Mitchell Strett.

Accommodation concept wonderful, execution poor. The standard of cleanliness of the rooms, bedroom floor and surfaces, bathrooms (shower and toilets) and kitchen was disgusting. The worst backpackers I have stayed in from Asia to Sth America. The website is totally misleading. This is party central with the young staff leading the charge. We left after half a night.

Hostel in really bad conditions. Quite dirty and poor maintained. The double room was jail-looking style, definitely too expensive (80 AU$) for what it was!

Rooms are big and the female only dorm definitely a good choice. I didnt use the kitchen as it was never very clean. The bathroom was always quite dirty. I heard they were cleaned twice a day but I never saw any improvement.
