Not a bad hostel...just average!!! Kitchen is very small though (1 microwave and no oven for whole hostel) and washing machines arent the best as over used. We went back for a 2nd stay though as it was ok.

This is one of the first hostels in Oz that remind me of some of the great European hostels. It has a really laid back atmosphere and I got to meet a lot of people all over the place. Also lots of place to sit down, relax and read a book (and swim if you are into that!).

nice location. there is just one computer for internet which closes at 9pm every evening. for the restrooms and showers you have to walk through the whole hostel area. its very dirty in the rooms and there are no sockets at all!!

The hostel was good for dormitory accommodation but double room with facilities disappointing. Would do better converting to all dorm style. Kitchen extremely organised so no theft of food. Indigenous people were able to enter the hostel during the day by walking in through the open bathrooms. They were helping themselves to anything lying around. The doors facing the street should be locked to prevent this.

room wasn't cleaned, used linen on beds. Toilets and bathrooms dirty and unkempt. Open exposed electrical wiring. Cancelled return booking.

Time of cleaning could be reviewed. Laundry times unconvenient, laundry area was disgusting....not clean, machines leaking. Extremely noisy until well after 12 nearly every one of the 6 nights i was there

We paid to be in a room with a double bed and after arriving at 1.30 in the morning after a long flight we discovered that we were in a room with bunk beds and a bright flurescent light right outside the window. Not impressed at all. We had a booking for three nights and checked out after one. They did not refund our deposit either. Will never go there again, cannot understand how they were voted the Lonely Planet's backpackers choice.
