The place was very clean. Sheets smelled fresh and no spots. Bed was very comfortable! The room was cramped with 6 people and stuff. There was no issue with when or how cold to run the A/C (taipei gets hot in summer). There is no "staff" who works there, just some people live there and take care of things for reduced rent, so not always someone knowledgeable about Taipei or Taiwan around. I never saw kevin the owner. The place is perfectly located right outside the night market, yet very quiet

The hostel is a little bit difficult to find. Essentially take MRT red line and get off the Jiantian (exit 1). Walk out and look for the family mart. There is an entrance on the side.

A very clean and tidy hostel locates just right next to metro station and Shi yLin night market. It is a quiet and home-like hostel, not a party one. You need to make a phone call to the staff when you arrive and the staff will assist you check in. Overall, it is a nice hostel.

Getting checked in was a little difficult as there is no full-time staffer. Once checked in, you get your own key to come and go as you please, but there is usually no staff there to help you with anything. Location is very close to the night market, which is great, but a little far from most other things. But with a metro day pass, it's no big deal.

This hostel is quite near MRT station and famous Shilin night market. It's new renovated and stylish and super-clean. You can feel you stay at modern shared apartment. The staff were very friendly and helpful but they weren't always at the hostel,it makes you upset when you want to check-in at first. The dorm rooms were narrow but the beds were very cozy,so I stayed there twice.

Excellent location, very clean and secure. One bad side : the 6 bed dorm is really too small...

Very nice hostel right next to the Shilin night market. Free breakfast, extremely clean, and also very accommodating (they agreed to store our huge luggage for two weeks!).

Fun Taipei Hostel is a great place for your stay. It felt really cozy and homey. It is exceptionally clean and so convenient. The staff there is busy but very helpful, considerate and easy to talk to. I highly recommend Fun Taipei. One advice would be, contact the staff via email before hand to find out where the hostel is. Although it's so close to the subway station, for those who are not familiar with the neighborhood it could be a little challenging to find.

I've never been to a hostel before where there is never any staff on site. You have to call him if you need anything, so don't expect to talk to a local if you have questions. He comes and goes whenever without any schedule, so you're basically on your own. For example, when you check out you just leave your keys and go. Otherwise it was clean and RIGHT at the subway and I appreciated seeing a cleaning person come by every day.

I love this hostel and will recommend it to everyone who will be visiting Taipei. It is very clean and open. Kevin is a wonderful employee and always willing to help (even if he isn't around you can e-mail him with any questions). Right next to the Shilin Night Market and a MRT station. Easy access. Very secure (key card entry and free lockers inside). Free wifi and computer access plus adapters on all the outlets near the beds. I really enjoyed my stay here.

Location was fantastic with only 1-2 mins walk from shilin night market .The place is clean with good facilities( common area with tv,sofa, computer) refrigerator and washing machine are shared. The only downside is that I've booked a 6 bed mixed dorm so that all 5of us can fit in a room, but the hostel arrangement was that we had to split. So we ended up with 4in a room and one friend had to sleep in another room. We feel that the hostel management should have given us what we booked instead.

Great location, MRT is just across the street. Also the famous Shilin night market is just downstairs, but the rooms has no noise and no stinky tofu smell at all ;) Even after midnight I still could find sth to eat, love it! Although the dorms and bathrooms are a little bit small but really clean. Everything is new. Shower gel, shampoo, even bread and fruit are well provided. Kevin, the owner is very nice and helpful. Made me feel like living in friend's apartment. Totally recommended!
