We stayed 2 nights at Funky Fes and we did enjoy our stay. The staff seemed generally uninterested in helping us with directions or showing us the hostel facilities. The self-catering facilities consisted of a kitchen which was more or less fully occupied by the hostel cook. It made it difficult to cook dinner. Also there is one shared bathroom and toilet among 14 people which can be annoying when you are trying to leave the hostel.

Had a really great 2 night stay at the hostel. The staff were brilliant, and there was a great social space to meet other guests. There was also loads of information and sign up sheets for walking tours of the medina, a mini van tour around the medina walls, arabic baths, desert trips etc etc. The meals were also great vallue for money. Overall extremely impressed.

Great rooms, great showers, great staff, great hostel. Breakfast was simple but very tasty and the best/cheapest bakery is 20 metres from the door. It can be hard to find but if you're going to Fes you better get used to that!! Would recommend this hostel to anyone and everyone.

Great hostel. The terrace is great for relaxing and meeting other people. The walking tour run by the hostel is more of a shopping tour though and isn't what I'm used to when it comes to walking tours. It's cheap enough though. Location isn't the best either, and I got told by a local older man that it was a bad area. I personally had no problems though.

We stayed here just one night, but we had an amazing time! The interior of the hostel is beautiful, and the staff members were super friendly. The hostel offers a lot of activities at good prices as well. You cannot enter without being let in, so safety is fine, and the location is about a 15 minute walk from the center of the medina.

I actually did not stay here yet because I canceled my trip to Fes and this booking but I felt the service was outstanding in the process Mahmoud was so kind to help me cancel my booking. They were very fast to respond by email and really nice over the phone. I didn\'t make Fes last week but will book here in the next few weeks when I head there. Thank you, Christine

Funky Fes is an OK hostel. I would recommend against eating there, the food is not that great and overpriced. The tour they offered to the Sahara was also very overpriced as well. Additionally, we spent one whole day on the tour doing pretty much nothing, and they offered things for us to do for even more money. They also expected us to go on breakfast and dinner only, we had to pay extra if we wanted lunch. If you just want a place to sleep it is OK, nothing special, but not bad.

I stayed in Funky Fes, Funky Granada & Funky Cordoba during my recent trip to Morocco & Spain. The Funky chain hostels are well located to major tourist sites and it was really nice staying in these Funky chain hostels.

Staff was very helpful. This hostel had guests of all different ages who were a bit more reserved than in other hostels I've stayed in. Not particularly a party hostel but a great location in terms of sightseeing in Fes. Met a group of girls who did the tour that the hostel organized and had a negative experience. I would recommend exploring Fez without a guide, or I was also told that there's an Office of Tourism that can schedule proper guides.

Very good hostel situated close to Place R'Cif, inside the medina of Fez. Friendly and helpfull staff, the hostel itself is beautiful, housed in a great morrocan riad, you can feel the oriental atmosphere everywhere. Dinner is served for 5 euro / person, towels are not free (1 euro / person), free acces to internet. You can arrive from train station with bus nr 19 to Place R'Cif (5 minutes to Funky Fes) or by petit taxi (1,5 - 2 euro). Very good 3-4h "tour of the medina" with guide for 5 euro.

The hostel is very nice, very Moroccan. We found it a little hard to find, but once you get there, it's very well located. The breakfast is very good, as well as the dishes you can but for about 5 euros for lunch and dinner. Paolo, the guy at the desk in the evenings, is great.

This was a wonderful hostel. Especially considering what I paid, the stay was phenomenal. The staff was very helpful, the rooms small but clean, and the atmosphere was fantastic; I got to spend a lot of time getting to know the other guests. The hostel also offered a lot of services that I enjoyed: I could eat there if I didn't want to go out (it rained) for a low cost, for one. The staff also walked me to a cab late at night to make sure I was safe. Paulo in particular was very helpful and nice

Staff were awesome, helpful, and provided good advice. Hostel was overcrowded though - on one night they were beyond full capacity and there was a bit of a queue for the bathroom. Dorm started to smell stuffy too. Departed for tour arranged by hostel on last day, but breakfast wasn't ready by the time we were picked up (even though they said it would be). Immediate area around hostel wasn't the safest, best to walk around with fellow hostel companions. Hostel food bit expensive at 50dhm.
