Located in the medina, tough a little walk from the sights, funky fes is a fairly safe bet as a hostel. staff are friendly, There's a large terrace and communal area. The rooms are fairly basic. Lots of activities, trips and meals are available, but really on the expensive side, as are the rooms themselves. Overall a great place, just trying to squeeze a bit too much money out of you
A nice hostel with friendly staff, but it lacked the cosy and homely feel that many other Moroccan hostels have. The facilities were great, and the evening group meal we had there was very tasty and a great way to get everyone chatting together. Unfortunately it's quite a trek to get to most of the restaurants, which makes things a bit difficult if you arrive in the evening!

I recommend you to stay in Funky Fes. It is close to the medina and it is clean, with many facilities and good athmosphere. And it is not difficult to get there cause the taxists in train station knows the hostel!
My friend and I arrived very late to Funky Fez and left really early in the morning. The staff were really friendly and helpful, though when sorting out a taxi at 4am for us to get to the airport. It was a really big help. The room and showers were clean, secure and perfectly fine for out time there! Definitely recommend Funky Fez as it is also very close to the main square and markets!
Best Hostel in Morocco. AC, good food, helpful staff, good price
AMAZING - rooms and toilets were clean and tidy. Staff were more than helpful I can't reccomed this hostel enough
The staff of Funky Fes is very helpful and offer reasonably priced excursions and tours. The atmosphere is nice and it offers comfortable sitting areas to meet and chat with other travelers. They also offer decent Moroccan food and some drinks. My one complaint was that the AC unit in our room (the 6 bed en suite) did not work and we were not given a heads up or warning from the staff. Overall a good experience but they need to fix that AC unit and be upfront about facility problems.
Funky Fes - A fantastic friendly hostel with everything you could need including staff that would do anything for you. All rooms are clean and spacious with Air con if required. If I was going to Fes this is the Only Hostel I would stay in!!
Definitely recommend a stay here! It's got a great friendly vibe. A lovely breakfast. People who stay here will provide you with more than enough tips to get by Morocco. Staff are always willing to assist, they're are great walking tours, maybe a little too long. The only major issue is that outside the hostel there's a lot of locals that gather I'm sure they're harmless it's just a bit confronting when ya on your own. So try to stick to groups when heading to medina.
a very nice and clean hostel. it is 10 minutes away from medina, but you can find your way there easily. one of the guys at the reception is quite cocky but friendly anyway. they have a laundry service, but we had a bit of problems with it, as got our clothes back wet on the morning of our departure.
Nice hostel, very helpful staff and a great roof terrace!
Really nice hostel with a great atmosphere. Staff are really helpful. I would stay here again for sure. We did the Sahara camel trek the hostel advertise and organises, a must do. Fez is a little crazy so it a good hostel to come back to and just chill out and relax up on the rooftop or just down stairs.
Really enjoyed it, was a nice escape from an otherwise horrible city, always good to come back to and kick back. Incredible rooms, clean showers, good reception, cook you food. Definitely the best hostel I've found in Morocco, highly rate it
Good but noy cheap for Morocco
It was so good They helped us I never never forget that.
An excellent hostel with great breakfast and close enough to the medina once you know the way. Great meal options for lunch and dinner and relatively cheap in comparison to other touristy places (it was Ramadan so most restaurants were closed til 8). I would definitely recommend for atmosphere alone.
The staff at Funky Fes are my new family in Morocco! They have gone above and beyond to ensure my safety and comfort finding the location and making sure I am comfortable while I am here. The receptionist, Yahya, is especially helpful about the city and accommodations at the hostel. The food served on site is both delicious and affordable, the terraces are beautiful and comfortable, and the common areas create a great atmosphere for mingling with other travelers. Clean, safe, and a great price!
It's was very nice place and very kind staffs. They helps everything about your trip!! Just go!!
A great hostel with plenty to offer. The rooms were very clean with massive ensuite bathrooms for each dorm. The location wasn't amazing, but I'm not sure where in Fes would have been better (it was just such a big place to be!). The staff were very helpful and the food there was very good. Unfortunately there is a group of men who hang around just near the door who can hassle some of the guests, but this isn't the hostels fault or in fact much different from many other places in Morocco.
the staff were a little cold and didnt explain things fully. And excursions organised through funky fes were overpriced and you didnt get what you paid for
