Great stay in funkey monkey was easy enough to find from getting dropped off. the room was big, had plenty of room, beds were comfy, big lockers. Beds got changed everyday which is good. The staff were great although some couldn't speak English. The free breakfast was good. There wasn't any keys to get in rooms but always staff around. The shower room with toilet needs a bath mat inside as the floor is slippery. Only bad thing. My flip flops got stolen from outside (you have to take off at door)

3 floors, 4 rooms per floor. Rooms were decent sized. Good location. Bikes for rent 10000kip but poor condition. Wifi ok. The not great thing about this hostel is that the bathrooms are all on the first floor. 5 showers and 2 toilets. Never busy, but a pain to trek all the way downstairs every time. Staff spoke English which is always great. The girl is friendly, the guys not as much - but everyone will help. Free breakfast always a benefit.

The staff at funky monkey are really nice they had loads of advice about the local area! We booked a twin room with a ensuite. The ensuite was ok, it looked like they had converted the wardrobe into a bathroom to charge a bit of extra money. It also smelled a bit! There were ants all over the floor in our room and we were on the top floor of the hostel. It was good enough for the one night we stayed but not good value for money.

The locks used on the doors are very easy to break into with a stiff credit card. Common areas were dirty.

The staff are very accommodating. I loved the clean bathroom, hot water and cool rooms.

Good location near the center of Vientiane. Some people of the staff are more interested in playing on their phone or sleeping at 7:30 in the morning that serving breakfast. Breakfast limited to 3 choices and portions are small. Aircon was really noisy in the room.

Great location to explore the old city with all of its Wats, restaurants and cafés. Nice enough staff although communication was a little tough. Good point to organise forward travel. Would recommend.

Great location in the middle of town, one block away from Night Market. Lockers provided in private room. Bicycles available for rent cheap. Average breakfast. Nice common area with pool table, but it was not really a social/party atmosphere. Laundry service available. Wifi worked well in rooms and common room. The only thing I really disliked was that our room was on the third floor and the only bathroom was located on the first floor. Staff was helpful and booked us an airport taxi.

A lovely little home stay for a night in Hue. The family are lovely and for a short trip this is fine!

Staff was really nice and helpful. Bed were comfortable and clean!

2 minute walk to night market. You can rent a bike for 10,000 and check out the sights. Their 70,000 shuttle to the Buddha park is a rip off. You can bike to the bus station in 10 minutes and take local bus 14 for 6,000 each way. There was a short/thick Asian girl with braces that apparently has been staying there for a while and helps out occasionally. She would walk around flirting with any dude who stayed there. Definitely annoying after awhile. Downstairs was clean. Dorm rooms not so much.

We had nice stay here. They upgraded us to a room with an ensuite which was great. Staff gave good advice about what to do in Vientiane, and organised our bus trip to vang vieng. Small crowd, but we were due for a quiet night!

Average hostel. Dorm looked a bit like a prison. Not much atmosphere

Rooms are gigantic with lots of walking space. Lockers are not the sturdiest however, but do the job. Hostel itself is clean but with one bathroom per floor it can mean walking to another floor for the facilities. Location is great with everything within the vicinity of Vientiane able to be seen by bicycle which is always great :)

pretty expensive for what you get. shared bathroom is on the ground floor which is a bit annoying. room small but with AC. our first room smelt really bad so I asked if it's possible to change for the second night - it turned out the second room was no better, smelling like an ashtray. they have a pool table and a commong lounge-area, so it's pretty easy to meet other travellers.

The staff were really nice and helpful, but I agree with other comments, the doors felt very weak. Nothing happened and all our stuff was safe.

The food recommendation / restaurant next to the hostel definitely has some room for improvement, as there was much better that we had during our trip throughout Laos, but aside from that, really very little feedback I can provide. We enjoyed our stay!

They only had one bathroom for 24 people, and there were no keys to the room. Practically anyone can enter the facility. The rooms were not that clean, but I only stayed there just to slack off, so it was okay, but compared to other hostels I stayed with, well, it was a little below my expectations.

The people that worked there were very helpful, helping us to book our bus tickets and also recommending good places to go for authentic Laos food. When we arrived, we decided to go for a private room rather than a dorm and this was sorted out for us right away! We enjoyed our stay and would recommend!
