This is a budget hotel not a hostel! I was located in an apartment building on the 1st floor in a 3 bed room. I had 3 keys: 1 for the front door, 1 for the door to my floor and 1 to my room. There were 3 other rooms on my floor and we all shared one combined bathroom and toilet with no other option. There is no common area or kitchen and the only little safes for security. On a positive note…it is located within a 5 min walk from Termini station and the cleaner does an excellent job.

we had nothing but great hospitality from Mabri who checked us in to the funny palace. As stated on their info page reception was in the inernet point/laundry which made it very easy to find. only less than 5 min walk from train station this made the location easily accessible. Mabri gave us a detailed map and helped us plan our 3 days in Rome highlighting all the main things we wanted to see. As well as hints to avoid ques & delays. Other staff were reserved but still very helpful.

i cannot understand why this place is top rated. It's ok for sleeping but otherwise it sucks. They don't even have a sign which tells that you come to funny place hostel and the reception in at the same premises with landromat which is cold as hell. Ouh man just wasn't the place for lonely traveller go some where else where is also some life.

I found it hard to find this hostel as I misread you have to check in at the Laundromat. There is no common room and no lockers. Fine for one night or a stop over. Pretty close to Termini station which is good though!

The location is excellent---very close to Termini train station and the Metro which is convenient. It is also nice because you can use the internet cafe. The bathrooms are nice and clean--certainly better than many hostels. They do have safety locks for valuables but it would be nice to have a locker in the room to lock up your luggage. I enjoyed my stay here and the staff are very nice. I recommend it.

It is a great hostel and Mabri (the owner) is very cheerful and helpful..You will not regret staying here, also the place is very clean and located less than 100 metres walking from the train station - Roma Termini.

I arrived there at Christmas day, and couple days before my arrival, the owner sent me email to know my flight schedule, and his staff was waiting for me and my friends. I was surprised that I got a free wine and very fast internet connection. The hostel's very clean, the staff and owner were nice. They are actually. The hostel was easy to find from the Roma Termini station. Definitely recommend this to friend.

The only downside of this hostel was that there wasn't a common area to meet other people at. However, everything else about it was fantastic. I stayed there with my cousin for four nights at a double bed private room, and it was essentially a nice hotel room. The staff was incredibly helpful and even planned out an entire itinerary for us when we arrived, as well as walked us through all the details on a map. Anything that you might need is conveniently located at the Termini station nearby!

The owner was very nice. We somehow booked our stay for dec instead of nov and arrived there thinking we had a booking, but the owner let us stay anyway, it just meant that we had to change rooms, which was fine for us. Double private room was like a hotel room. The owner gave us a map and then a whole itinerary for sight seeing squashed into the one full day we had, it was excellent!

Mabri is a super great guy, who welcomed us and helped us all the time. We even got a bottle of wine as a welcome gift. We came across some troubles outside and it was him who gave a big hand. Really appreciate it! very close to the main train station and breakfast is included, worth of the money! Basic facilty but enough for a budget traveller. They will make your bed everyday and clean the rooms and toilets everyday. Only thing was the shower water was not too big, but it is acceptable.

We missed our connection flight to Rome and TAP missplaced our luggage. We have stayed in Funny Palace Hostel for 2 nights without our luggage and, meanwhile, the owner of the hostel himself kept calling the Courier Service to speed up the delivery of our luggage. That only explains how careful the staff is - best staff i`ve ever seen. The rooms are great and very comfortable. I recommend for everyone - couple or single.

Great place if you want a place to stay with friends. Not good if you want to meet people. It's almost like a hotel but way cheaper

Despite seeing somewhat shady when first checking in, the rooms are fantastic, and the owners were very helpful and friendly, giving us discounts at local restaurants which were a lot nicer than restaurants we found out near popular tourist attractions.

I had a great stay at Funny Palace-the room was great, the staff was really nice, etc! There isn't alot of character, so it won't be tons of fun, but it's a good hostel! In terms of location, it is VERY close to the train station, which is wonderful. And every bus and the 2 metro lines stop at the train station. However, it is not really close to any of the sights, so you will end up walking a good bit to get to them.
