Thank you so much for all your help when staying in Rome! We were so grateful to be upgraded to a room with a private bathroom and to have help making a booking. Thanks and great hostel! I will be recommending to any of my friends travelling to Rome!

Very nice stay. We had a private room so I can't say anything about the shared rooms. But the rooms where very spacious, clean, modern. They are more like hotelrooms in shared apartements. The building is lovely, authentic with an old elevator and big stairs and a broad hallway. I really liked the Italian feel and looking out of my window in the street every morning. Friendly staff in nearby internet cafe/laundrenette. Got a free bottle of wine and free computer use. Free breakfast in a cafe.

You get your own bed, no bunks. On the outter fringe of the city. Would have liked to have a common room, that wasn't a laundromat/internet cafe. The staff was hit or miss, some were friendly and helpful, others kind of just wanted to get you out of their hair and didn't care.

It's a good hostel because it's located close to the train station. The reception is not available in the night and I think it's a bad thing.

Ignore the doubts that cross your mind when you first check in at a dingy laundromat / internet cafe. The rooms are clean and big, with serviceable bathrooms. There's wifi and a safe in every room. Location is great, right next to Termini, which makes it incredibly easy to get around. Staff was super helpful, gave us a map when we checked in with tourist routes and corresponding transportation info. Also offered to help us book reservations at the Bourghese gallery, etc. Had a great stay here.

We had a really great stay! The hostel was clean, the staff was very welcoming and friendly. Additionally, the hostel is perfectly situated, not quite in the city-center (which means it's a quite area) but it was nevertheless possible to go to the main touristic attractions by foot. If I go back to Rome, I certainly will go back to Funny Palace!

The shower head cannot be hanged up, which is very troubling.

Great place, and very central and close to train/bus station. Staff was very helpful with where to go, and updated our room so we didn't have to share a bathroom. Also threw in a bottle of wine! Only advice to fellow travelers is to take earplugs.... the street noise starts VERY early in the morning.

Great location, everything is clean and well kept etc. unfortunately cleanliness doesn't contribute to hostel atmosphere, of which funny palace has little. Also no cooking facilities. If you want to socialise this probably isn't the place. Would not recommend for solo travellers. Groups will have no problems however.

definitely more of a bed and breakfast - no common area or kitchen in this hostel (although our room had a mini fridge). it was great though - got tons of sleep and quiet there, and the manager helped us plan what to do based on the number of days we spent there. it was a lovely place.

Our stay was very good! We stayed in a private room, which was very clean and functional. The main inconvenience is that it was in a third floor, with no elevator. When we arribed the staff from the hostel helped us to carry it upstairs, but we had to carry them downstairs when leaving. Johny, who recieved us is very friendy and helped us a lot to organize our visits in Rome! However, as the hostel does not have a kitchen or a place to hung out there is no "hostel atmosphere".

Joni is very polite & goes through an ideal itinerary for you based on your length of stay in Rome. Basic clean rooms, no lockers, but a safe was nice. One bathroom for 12 people, so if someone is taking a shower and you gotta go, you gotta wait :/ surprisingly very clean bathroom, & constant, running, hot water! The pressure was lacking, but could be fixed by maintenance. Location to train station unbeatable, sights are a hike, but public transport is supposed to be great, I opted to walk.

Depending on where your preference of staying would be, location experience could differ. Since it is near to main train terminus, it was excellent for me. i would gladly stay there again :)

This place was great. Lovely, clean accommodations right near the train station. The free bottle of wine with check in was awesome, and the staff was SO nice. Discounts on laundry, free internet, free breakfast at a local cafe. No complaints other than that it would be nice if the hostel had a common room, and if the free wine came with a free wine opener :P

We had a nice stay at this hostel. The hostel it self has good, safe, quite and very clean rooms. Mabri, one of the owners, was helpfull and gave us many informations about Rome. He also upgraded our room to a better one with no extra charge and gave us a bottle of wine. The only negative point is that they didn't give me the receipt of the payment when I asked, saying that will do it later, but never did.
