Very considerate staff, clean and ample room and nice location near Termini station. The gentleman at the front upgraded our room without charging us extra and also sat down to explain the best ways to get around Rome. Tremendous service!

We only stayed in Funny Palace one night, but it was a great place to explore Rome from. We were greeted by Mabri, who was very funny and friendly. He sat down with us and told us the best route for a one day tour of Rome. He also gave us a bottle of wine and coupons for free breakfast and deals on lunch and dinner. We stayed in a 5 person private room that was spacious and clean. The bathrooms were clean and modern. Great location near the train station.

It was quite surprising to see that the room at the hostel was very clean and the people that helped us were very friendly and helpful. However, we had some difficulty finding the location of the hostel.

We had a great time in Funny Palace. The room was perfect and clean, the staff is really nice, great location. No complains at all...

They are very close to the termini in Rome, it was the easiest hostel we had to find on our 1 month trip in Europe. The floor we stayed on was very small, rooms were big enough but not many people on the entire floor to socialize with also there was no gathering area either. Everything was cleaned everyday. Only had small safes, not big enough for entire bag so we had to have locks on our bags

It's a simple place but owners are reallyyyy friendly. They sit down with every guest to recommend the best route to tour Rome in 2-3 days and gave a bottle of wine as gift. Just hoped that the kitchen could have some utensils though. Thanks Mabri & Joni for the pleasant experiences despite the horrible experiences in Italy!

This hostel is very clean, cute, and well located only a 5 minute walk from the train station. The owner is super friendly and helpful. I would gladly stay here again next time I am in Rome.

The hostel has no sign outside it, which makes it very difficult to find. The manager of the hotel explained to me that the directions were all written in an email. Well that's fine but I didn't have access to my emails at the time; I was then told directions were in the initial email - well that was some weeks ago. What's the harm in having a sign outside? It could say: "Funny Palace Hostel + Launderette". Clean and secure but badly signposted.

The owner was really awesome, he went through and showed us everything on the map and the best ways to get there. He gave us a suggestion on how to save time, and how to get into places that we wanted to the easiest way. He gave great suggestions for things we hadn't thought about yet.

Very nice stay. We had a private room so I can't say anything about the shared rooms. But the rooms where very spacious, clean, modern. They are more like hotelrooms in shared apartements. The building is lovely, authentic with an old elevator and big stairs and a broad hallway. I really liked the Italian feel and looking out of my window in the street every morning. Friendly staff in nearby internet cafe/laundrenette. Got a free bottle of wine and free computer use. Free breakfast in a cafe.

You get your own bed, no bunks. On the outter fringe of the city. Would have liked to have a common room, that wasn't a laundromat/internet cafe. The staff was hit or miss, some were friendly and helpful, others kind of just wanted to get you out of their hair and didn't care.

Ignore the doubts that cross your mind when you first check in at a dingy laundromat / internet cafe. The rooms are clean and big, with serviceable bathrooms. There's wifi and a safe in every room. Location is great, right next to Termini, which makes it incredibly easy to get around. Staff was super helpful, gave us a map when we checked in with tourist routes and corresponding transportation info. Also offered to help us book reservations at the Bourghese gallery, etc. Had a great stay here.
