We loved staying here! The man who owned it was really nice and gave us very detailed directions to where we wanted to go and excellent ideas on how to spend our time. I also loved the way the beds were; there was a little more privacy than there usually is in a hostel. The bathrooms were separate for boys and girls (yay!) as well. It was easily the best hostel I've ever stayed in.

Staff was ready always to help, hostel is large and there is enough space for everything, huge common room, 3 laptops available, two rooms for kitchens, enough bathrooms, I would just add that it will help if there are also bathrooms on the second floor. The location is central and easy to reach. I recommend the hostel.

I stayed only one night in GIDIC hostel, but I enjoyed it a lot. Everything I'd like to find in a hostel was there, plus I found myself having a nice chat and some drinks with the two owners, so I really don't have anything to complain about...

Really nice staff!!!! The staff recommended me a restaurant on a basement inside the old town, which is of great value.

We were very lucky to get to this hostel - host (very friendly, Australian guy) gave us map on the start, and showed a lot of interesting places to visit and eat. Listen carefully to his advices! The hostel is nice and clean, free parking place. There's about 10 minutes walk to the Old Town.

Fred and everyone at Gidic were incredibly helpful, friendly and offered lots of great little tips on places to eat and things to do in Tallinn and also on a tour down the west coast. Our double room was clean, bright, comfortable and spacious and only a very short walk to the old town. Couldn't have asked for anything more. Thanks guys!

Was not so nice to separate our company in different rooms, i was booking one room for 5 people, and wasn't cool, that we had to stay in two different rooms!

Owner Comment (Show)
Hi Vladlena, Thank your feedback. Please note that you had booked for 1 night only into a six mix dorm only 2 days before your arrival day - at such late notice on a busy week-end unfortunately we were simply not able to assist you with putting you in your friends into the same room. However you were placed in a Mix six dorm as per your booking. Please also note that although we always try to allocate/keep groups together - unfortunately there are times that this is just not possible. But we trust you enjoyed Tallinn in any case. Kind Regards, Natalia (Manager)

Not in the Old Town, but the walk is only 10 minutes. The hostel is still in the city centre and we all felt really safe round there, even at night.Staff were fantastic;really knew the city well and told us the best places to go for food, drink and tours.V. welcoming, friendly and relaxed atmosphere.Super clean everywhere, esp. in the kitchen, and they've had locks put on the doors since some other reviews, which makes your room feel v. secure.Great value for money and there's even a printer!

Nice stay with very friendly staff, but had 3 cold showers out of 4. Heated floor in the bathroom nearly made up for it though.

My friends and I celebrated New Year in Gidic Backpackers. We would like to express our gratitude to staff for our happy New Year's party. And we basically recommend everybody to visit Tallinn in the New Year and Christmas holidays and stay in Gidic! In our room were heated mattresses. It is pretty cute especially in cool Tallinn))

GIDIC Hostel offers very simple accomodation, so if you're looking for luxuries it's not a hostel for you. However, if all you need is comfy place to sleep, well equipped kitchen and nice bathroom for a good price - this is excellent place for you :) Staff is fantastic and will help you with any kind of problem , rooms are really warm even in the middle of winter, and the location is nicely in middle of the way from bus station to the old town. Perfect! :)
