Great hostel, great staff, great building. The bar inside is top notch with an assortment of craft beer, liquors, and their famous rugged pineapple moonshine which is only 500 colones a shot. I'm returning to San Jose tomorrow and they're, sadly, booked up through the week. That should say something in itself. Only stayed for a night, but was very content with my experience.

Good bar, rubbish room - the smallest closet we have slept in yet, with the added bonus on traffic ambience.

had a great stay, was made very welcomed when we arrived. Not far from shops and resturants. We would stay there again if we go back to San Jose. My only comment would be the draft beer was expensive, advertised as cheap beer but was $4 a glass, double check prices before ordering.

Transitioning from the coast to San Jose airport, I was at Galileo less than 24 hours but still managed to have a tremendous time. Lots of character (and characters). The beds in the dorms are pretty packed in, but it gets the job done. The in-hostel bar was great and the kitchen well-appointed. Staff were friendly with good senses of humor. Because I was there only briefly, I can't speak to its location or breadth of services/awesomeness, but it was perfect for my one night stay.

I spent 10 days there in a dorm. It was an awesome time in San José. The staff is very friendly and the pineapple bar is lots of fun...

Good room, good kitchen and so on but the best thing was the staff and the hang out in the lounge/bar! And the new hostel puppy was the cutest :)

Although we only stayed for a night, the staff was really accommodating and made us feel very welcome. There is a great little restaurant down the street that we ate at and the bus station is not too far to walk to if you want to visit some of the beaches and other towns. Overall great stay.

I stayed here for 11 nights, the staff was great, friendly, helpful and accomadating. The bar was well stocked, the guests were warm, friendly and very interesting.Beds were comfortable and clean. The bathrooms were as clean as could be expected for the amount of people, and the showers were HOT.I\'m 69 years old and enjoyed my stay very much. They do need a handyman though.

The place was great. Staff were great, bar is excellent, good vibe to it. The place it awesome and it's a nice place to be with the couches in the front. If there was anything they could improve- the showers, it wasn't the greatest but it did the job....sorta.

Galileo hostel, although rife with Character was disappointing to say the least. The accommodation were sufficient however the staff proved to be entirely unhelpful and unapproachable. The bar was fun but poorly stocked...no imperial?!

This place is as funky as it gets but it simultaneously oozes charm and character. It's a cool old house really close to the buses to the airport, and security was good (lockers and front gate monitored). The staff were super helpful and chill and spoke excellent English. The atmosphere is really fun in general, as there is a bar on site, but the best part is the diversity and attitudes of the people that tend to stay here- people from everywhere and of all ages. The bathrooms could use a cleani

Very nice hostel in a safe area of San Jose. It's easy to walk to the center. The staff is nice and helpful and the hostel has a good vibe! The only thing I missed was a table when I wanted to eat.

These guys were really friendly, helpful, and each had the traveler spirit. A great place to stay, meet people, have some drinks, start or end your journey in Costa. I'd go back 100%.

The hostel staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and to help us plan our trip. I would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone staying a short time in San Jose. Do be careful about going out at night though!
