From the moment we arrived to the moment we left all the staff were very friendly and happy to help! Our double room was huge and very comfortable, and the toast in the morning was great! It is close to the subway and good places to eat and drink. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Single room was a windowless closet. Reasonably priced though.

Thank you for taking your time to write the review. Land is scarce in Singapore and rooms are generally smaller than what you used to.

Bed was unbelievably uncomfortable, really far from town and the staff were friendly but unhelpful when asked about things to do in the area.

thanks for your feedback and we were sorry that you do not like "harder" beds. we noted you scored us low for location which we deemed deserve justifications. We are conveniently located along Lavender Street, minutes away from Little India, 24-hour Mustafa Centre, Shopping Malls, 24-hour eateries, a minute away from bus stop, few minutes from MRT station (North East Line) which can bring you to town in about 10 - 12 minutes. we will look into the matter as why the staff is unhelpful when asked about things to do in the area as we have prepared a map which shows the amenities and things to do around our hostel.

I really enjoyed my stay at Gap Year Hostel. The staff was friendly and helpful, and I appreciated the free breakfast. At first, this hostel might be hard to find (especially in the rain), but afterwards it's quite convenient. The only thing I didn't really like was the shower, which was in the same room as the toilet, but this seems very common in a lot of Asia. Overall, I would stay here again!

Good location just next to little india and an MRT station which makes it very easy to get around. We had to check in late and the staff were very helpful and accommodating.

I had a great time at Gap Year hostel. It was a simple no-fuss service and whenever I had a query, the staff were diligent and more than happy to help. The location is good as it is only minutes away from your hot spots but in an area that allows for a peaceful walk home without the chaos of the city.

It's a very nice place but I didn't like the fact that there was no separate bathroom and toilets. In the morning, it was impossible to use the toilet because there were people queuing to use the bathroom. I had to run to the local public area to find a toilet. There is also no microwave and fridge and stove for cooking and thought it was inconvenient for those who wished to cook their own meals.

Thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry that you have to run to the local public area to look for toilet. It was a deliberate decision not to have a kitchen area as we are surrounded by many food places (you should really try the good local food). But we do have a fridge for guest to store things which you did. also, we noted you scored us low for location which we deemed deserved justifications. We are conveniently located along Lavender Street, minutes away from Little India, 24-hour Mustafa Centre, Shopping Malls, 24-hour eateries, a minute away from bus stop, few minutes from MRT station (North East Line). thank you again

The common area is nice, but the rest of the place isn´t. We had a double room which was more like a broom closet without a window. besides the double bed there was also a bunk bed in the already tiny room, which we didn´t understand. The 2 bathrooms are tiny and could do with a renovation. Considering the Price, we expected more. The staff was very friendly though. No complaints there.

The room had no window and the bathroom facilities are very poor. There is no kitchen. But breakfast and wifi is free, and the staff is very friendly, so it was ok :)

Thank you for your feedback. Even though we have limited bathroom facilities due to the space and structure constraint of the shophouse, we strive to make it clean for all our guests. There is no kitchen as food around us is abundant and very reasonably priced.

Very small hostel but overall good. This place is suited for backpackers wanting a quieter place to stay. The hostel had 4 dorms rooms and 2 combined shower and toilet facilities. Easy to get to due to easy rail network. Free wifi network which was very fast. Free complimentary breakfast and free tea and coffee. Hostel was very clean and friendly staff at hand. The hostel is located just off of Little India, quite a walk to the CBD.

A very cute place. It is well connected with the MRT. There is not much around, but considering the cheap price, the location is great. The girls working in the hotel are absolutely charming, and the common area is nice and well.
