Mixed experience. Info about late arrival fees and 11pm check-in curfew provided after paying deposit. Uncomfortable with the host copying our passports. House rules condescending. Excellent location. Spacious, clean and comfortable room. Free mini bar! 'Coffee' is instant. Wifi kept dropping out. Host went to great effort. She provided generous, delicious breakfasts, gave us a map and showed key sights. Despite this, my partner and I never felt comfortable. We will stay elsewhere next time.
Unfortunately, this guest was confused about the difference between check-in times, and whether or not there is a curfew. There is No Curfew. Garden View is a private residence bed and breakfast in the British tradition. Guests are provided keys to the premises and are free to come and go whenever they wish. AS NOTED ON THE BOOKING SITE There are time perimeters for checking in and out. Guests must be checked-out by 11:00, but luggage may be dropped off after 9:30. Check-in is Not Possible before 14:00, unless otherwise agreed upon, and not after 21:00 unless the guests are willing to incur late arrival fees. The site also states No Entry after 23:00. This guest intended to arrive at 23:30, but did not want to pay the late arrival fee because there is no curfew! Obviously, one has nothing to do with the other. All guests provide passports or EU identity cards to be copied. In case of an emergency, I can provide authorities with that info. However, on more than one occasion, a guest needed a copy of the copy we made because the original was lost or stolen. Our WiFi is 150 mbs, which our business guests are happy with because they use their laptops to work in their room, and talk to family on Skype. We have found that guests with older mobile phones have trouble with the wireless connection because the mobile doesn't have sufficient capacity. I hope this clears up any misunderstandings!
