Great place to stay! Close to the metro so easy to get around the city. 5 minute walk from Sagrada Familia. Very clean hostel and dorm rooms- felt like I was sleeping in someone's home. Have already recommended to friends and family and will definitely be staying there again!
Has upkeep the Generator standard, nice and clean
Love the place. I was staying in Generator Venice 2 days prior when found out there is one in Barcelona so I went ahead and booked it for 2 nights. Super friendly and helpful stuff - they even hooked me up with another girl who was going to the airport same morning so we shared the ride and split the cost. Super clean facilities. Great rooms: neat, quite, with a shower, sink and bathroom separated so no one gets on each other way if you need to just wash the hands.
GOOD: Good location, comfortable beds and bedding, free computers for internet, helpful staff BAD: The bathroom must have had a drainage problem as it smelt very bad, our dorm door wouldnt close properly, no access to a kitchen or cutlery outside of breakfast.
Excelent brand new facilities. 6 bed room too small. Lack of atmosphere. Overall a nice hostel.. I would stay there again
My second time staying here...awesome place. Can't go wrong with the chain of Generator hostels.
Beautiful place to stay. Could do with more desk staff and elevators at timed but highly recommend.
Another awesome hostel from the Generator chain. Can't go wrong when staying with them.
I don't know if it's usual on hostels or I was unlucky, but I realized that 75% of guests were men. Besides, 50% of girls were chubby. It's not good for a straight guy alone in Barcelona.
Excellent hostel ... Or maybe hotel ! The best hostel I have ever stayed Toilet and bathroom inside the room Stylish lobby , everything s just perfect No to mention the breakfast , I miss it already
I have enjoyed very much my staying in Generator Barcelona. The building interior design is something amazing. The rooms are also very comfortable and well designed. A strong point are the bunk beds the rooms are equipped, they are very stable and don't allow anyone to be disturbed by the shaking of the top or bottom bed. As weak aspects I'd say that the room cleaning was poorly done and that the breakfast staff wasn't minimally worried about the quality of their service.
This hostel is beautiful, one of the coolest that I've ever stayed in. The lockers in the room are great, the AC was too good! I woke up cold sometimes, but that was a nice change from the Barcelona heat at the beginning of August. The showers are a bit small, but the communal showers on the same floor are bigger. They also had a bad smell sometimes. But so do the streets of Barcelona! I only wish there was more of a kitchen. The wifi was the best at any hostel I ever stayed.
Best hostel I've ever stayed in. Urban Outfitters and Ikea basically threw up all over this hostel. Super trendy, very modern and clean. Awesome bar and nightlife, awesome lounges and common areas, pool table, free computers, and super strong mojitos at the bar! Would recommend this hostel 100 times over. Great value for money and a great experience!
Honestly not much to complain about. Amazing location and facilities. WiFi is great in every room. For me though I found the hostel way too big. It's industrial size. This helps them give you better facilities for a smaller price, but for a solo traveller like me the atmosphere is way too anonymous. I never felt comfortable speaking with people in the shared spaces and the staff couldn't possibly remember who I was. I've decided to stick to small hostels. For a group this hostel would be perfect
The generator hostel is very nice from an aesthetic point of view, very new, the hang out areas are very big and relaxing, the rooms are like hotel rooms, and awesome that each room has a shower and toilet! as a solo traveller found it hard to meet others.
This place has one of the best bars I've ever seen for a hostel!
Very busy hostel with a party atmosphere, probably best suited to 18-20 year olds. All looked very cool and artsy inside, the map came with tips, recommendations and a mini phrasebook which was brilliant, and there are computers and a printer for anyone to use. A little bit far out from the centre but not too far from the nearest metro. My only gripe was that breakfast isn't included in the already fairly hefty price.
One of my favorite hostels. There are tons of visitors from all over the world and it's super easy to meet people. There is pretty hip bar on the main floor which tends to stay busy all night long. The staff is great too. Breakfast is better than most hostels - they offer eggs and sausage as well as the normal continental things. Beach is about a 20 min subway ride but it's extremely easy. Highly recommended.
The hostel itself is brand new and very clean. The Generator owns tons of hostels across Europe, so they really know how to run things well. However, it's so large that it doesn't have as much character and personality as some of the other options in the area. It's hard to meet people and it's not as social since it's so giant. I'd only stay here if you're traveling with a large group of friends and aren't looking to meet new people, or if you're just wanting to sightsee and not go out at night.
